This is 600-1 and 600-2 in Talladega national park I did the same trail right after a huge thunderstorm in a stock nissan frontier I was in 2 wheel drive the whole time dont let not having all the gear and nice trucks stop you any suv or truck can do those trails

I enjoyed the video! I camped at turnipseed many times as a teenager. I now own land not too far from the scenic overlook. There’s some good trails in the foothills of that area.

To Stormin' Moorman, you're not running this trial in a Mirage today! I ran the 600-1 a month ago in my stock 2011 Tacoma TRD Sport. It was my first trail (I'm a newbie) and a good trail for those starting out or just want to get in the woods. I learned a few things and yes, the overlooks on a clear day are worth the trip. I only used 4WD in one area out of precaution. I didn't have recovery gear so I didn't want to take a chance of bogging down. Im sure a much more experienced driver could have negotiated the area in question without 4WD but why chance it? The 600-1 is a nice drive; longer than I thought. As far as "needing a spotter" I'd rather use one and make sure to get out of the woods clean than have to tell the wife I broke something because I didn't think I needed a spotter. I'm a bushcrafter with a little touch of survivalist mixed in. Better safe than sorry in the woods. The best way to get out of a survival situation alive is NOT to get into a survival situation in the first place. My bank account can't tolerate misplaced machismo or stupidity. Don't take unnecessary chances! You're in the woods to have fun, not tear stuff up. Subscribed #250.

I'm a Toyota guy myself but there is zero reason a Raptor would or should get stuck on this trail. 600-1 and 600-2 are little more than dirt roads with a few ruts in them. They're supposed to be easy fire service roads for a reason. If you have a reasonable high clearance 4wd you're fine. Heck I never took my 4Runner out of 2wd on this trail. It's all about your tires and line selection, other than that this is a easy green trail at best.
@ScenicCityAdventures
@ScenicCityAdventures 4 жыл бұрын
Yep, they are great trails to build your confidence! You should see one of our newer videos. My dad switched from a raptor to a Porsche Cheyenne. So of course, we had to take it down 600-1.

At around 1am both my father and I awoke to the sound of a off-key, creepy, yelling sound. I heard my father start to unzip his tent, then think better of it. When we got up in the morning we immediately asked the other of they had been woken up by it. We both had been. It was super creepy!

Thanks! You can easily do most of 600-2 and about half of 600-1. There are also a TON of gravel trails around the base of Cheaha you can easily do. The only parts I'd worry about are at the start of far end of 600-1 if you start from Cheaha. Even then, if it's dry you'll probably be ok. If possible bring another vehicle with 4wd to pull you out and you'll be fine!
