I recently built a wood shed down by the creek at our home property, and never filled it with fire wood because I knew I had wanted to come and do a campout first. I had also wanted to make a little wood-fired hot tub for the occasion, and have been mulling over ideas for a long time. Years ago we bought a bunch of old 500lb propane tanks in order to have a pontoon dock made, and there were a bunch of leftover tank 'ends'. We sold some, gave some away, had 2 combined to make a globe, and have had the last 2 sitting around for years. I had always wondered if I could fit in one, and use it as a hot tub! I knew I needed some way to stand it up, and have a fire underneath, and when we were getting the rails for the ore car hot tub project, I saw an old tire rim and knew it would be the perfect thing. Steve helped to give life to my vision, and voila!
Honestly, the whole tub and experience turned out better than I thought it would, and I kinda can't wait to do it again! 🤭
Camping in the wood shed was fun - I made it feel super cozy with lights and some hanging sheets to keep the cold creek breeze out. In the morning it was likely about 8 degrees Celsius, but I was warm and comfortable!
So much of life is making memories, and the more we do that's out of our 'normal', or out of our comfort zone, the more memories we will make. Ever thought about camping in your own back yard? Get out and make it happen! 😁
As always, thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed the 'Michyquirky' video 🤭
M 💕

Reminds me of an old Playboy Magazine cartoon. Picture in your mind's eye, African natives gathered around a huge cooking pot. Inside the pot as a fire heated the water, was a female missionary whose head (with worried expression) was sticking out, still wearing a traditional safari-style pith helmet. This image came to mind, only with Michelle in her hot tub wearing a pith helmet!

If you really want to clean up the Tub and make it a bit safer. Add some river sand (even fine gravel will work) in the bottom of the hot tub. When in there rub the sand around and the tub it will really clean up and it gives you a layer to stand on that isn't steal. I built something like this for my sister the sand is key. Great job on the project.

I used to work for NYC (retired), our in house painters were all Union and highly skilled. Their ladder choice was little giant with all the attachments. What a versatile tool that is. Extensions on legs for ground and stair adjustments. The ladder folded and planks make it a sturdy platform and to many other parts to hold tools and step off a ladder onto a work step while ladder is raised and so on. You might want to consider one, they are great, maybe a sponsorship pitch will get you one. Enjoy and lucky Steve, a girl who not only helps around the house but can build one, lol.

I spent a good 25 years working in the bush and now am retired in wine country in Naramata BC....I always enjoyed being in the bush and became adept at being comfortable in my natural surroundings be it in a wall tent, sleeping under a canoe or in an open lean-to. I do miss the camping experience and the independence it offered not only physically but spiritually as well. I really enjoy watching your videos.....

Hi Michell, good morning. I told you, your MSA-140 Stihl chainsaw, would become your go to saw. Our friends had a large broken limb. Took my Greenworks battery chainsaw over and in no time, we cut it down, love not having to gas and pull starting saw. I had a total shoulder replacement last year and want to keep it working well. My friends are buying an electric chainsaw they were so impressed. Through this week went by fast, it’s not Sunday morning having my coffee watching you, but Wednesday. Keep up the great videos always enjoy your projects, weather is good her so will finish up decks staining this week. Stay safe and well.

Watching you chop that wood really strikes one as being a highly efficient (complete) power transfer from your body to the axe. A thing of wonder and beauty. And, it is clear you need a heavier axe because you could clearly push it harder. I just love your mysterious smirk as you were coming up with and completing your plan for a hot tub.

In a world where woodchucks ponder and girls dream, A tale of mischief, laughter, and a hot tub scheme. The woodchuck scratched its furry head with glee, For the woodshed's lack of wood, you see. A girl, adventurous, her heart aflutter, Decided the woodshed's fate to utterly shutter. "No logs for me," she declared with pride, "I'll camp here, with a shelf, by my side." With determination, she toiled away, Crafting a shelf for her human array. But then, a wild idea took its hold, A wood fire hot tub, daring and bold! She found an old truck wheel, rusty and round, And a quarter of a propane tank she found. With tools and sparks, she set the stage, For a hot tub adventure, fit for an age. But the woodchuck, with its wisdom profound, Recalled a tale that did astound. Three ducks, in a 118-degree brew, Sank without a trace, oh, how they flew! The next day, as the sun took its bow, The woodchuck returned, its heart aflutter now. The girl, packing up, had made amends, The woodshed stocked, to its very ends. So, the moral of this tale, you see, Is that woodchucks and girls can both agree, A woodshed filled with wood, that's good, As much wood as they both ever could!

Hey mitchy......you should buy an old trailer 6ft long...4ft wide. And convert to mini portable house. Strip trailer down. Do any repairs n welding. Add tabs in sides. Welded. Then osb the floor n unsulate with foam on too. Then wood plank for main floor. 2x4s for sides and pitched roof. Use couple old rusty rustic windows un sides. Add half barn door....one that splits in middle. Add those cheap bought roof shingles and ridge cap. Inside make fold down bed off wall. Fold down table. Add couple of shelves rustic of course then old wagon wheel chanderlier. Couple of candle sconces too. Then bluetti can power it...all electrics. Park it down near woodshed or take with you when required.....be a cool fairly easy build. Just mill some cedar n pine up. Buy isb n roof shingles...find other bits u have lying around. Make stable door with little stained glass window in.... Voila poratable tiny cabin. P.s love steve helping u....n just digging deep to the crazee but cool ideas....litterally looks like a mitchy boiling pot....lol.❤ Keep happy..well n safe all inc the doggys. X

Don't fuss with that cedar plank facia, it survives the 20' "squint-eyed" rule; (from further than 20' you'll never see the gap.) Enjoying the content, cheers from a former West Kootenay guy, now in the Willamette Valley.

Well that's interesting 🤔 I'm a little concerned about your diet, with you throwing up a wood shed and metal roof. Perhaps chewing more through and switching too something like blackbeans and butternut squash, and give that a try. Michy it looks more like a Japanese tea cup. You should make a lid for it and attach the foam to it. Even if you leave the water in it and it freezes it's just a fire away from being nice and toasty. Have a good week and God bless amen.

I find these vids hilarious: yeah I’ll make a simple wood shed and a “basic wood fired hot tub” for my overnight, I’ll just need someone to weld it together and bring it down with the bobcat. 🤣

Steve is the best. It's my favorite watching him tolerate taking direction from the director.

Thanks for letting us spend the day and evening with Michelle. I used to camp a lot and came away from your video with that same relaxed refreshed feeling I used to have once I got home. Amazing that you are able to convey that with how you film and edit. Love your videos

One of my favorite episodes. The tub is larger than it appeared when you were building it. I wouldnt have guessed you'd be able to submerge yourself. Great job. I like the hippie way of doing things. Im pretty particular about building quality, but if i get a chance to enjoy a hippie invention, I'll do it.

Yep this episode is one of my favs. I like how you change things up a bit. Now I already thought Steve was a beast after the boat ferrying episodes but dang he's not afraid of anything! Much respect for him. Keep those changing videos coming!

So awesome! and very inspirational, was a little concerned that you got into a "Hot tub" that was 106C. Love your videos, but be careful out there!!

She had to have meant 106F because of im not mistaken water can not get hotter than 100C at normal atmosphere. That is the boiling temperature any hotter than 100C would become supercritical. 100C is 212F.

The recommended tub temp is no more than 114F at that point long exposure is actually cooking you.

Yes, I'm aware of the difference between C and F, it was more of a joke than anything else! Anyone who has been around even a little bit should know the difference, it was a subtle way of me telling the beautiful Lady that she had "Canadiened" her video! LOL!!! Have a great day!! @@enchiladaguapo3869
