In this video, I head out into woods and set up a tarp. Do some campfire cooking and camp out in the rain. This trip was filmed in early May, but I got sidetracked with other projects. Hope you enjoy it!

4-5 briquettes of match lite carried in a ziplock bag makes for excellent wet wood fire starter, gives you flame fuel and a small coal bed, saves a lot of time and trouble, weighs nothing, and is no more “cheating” than any other fire starter. Good video. Keep ‘em coming.

Ahhh the classic Knorr side dish meal! I've had every single variation of them and still enjoy them. A friend told me that it was all in my head, that I was hungry and tired, that it wasn't THAT good, but I know how good it is to get a hot meal after walking all day.

Howdy Sam, another relaxing video in the rain sir. Quiet and uneventful with a couple rounds of rain. It was 109 today here where I live, this was a good video to cool my brain down! Hi Joe! Yeah those are definitely some options on the next one. I really like these Knorr meals. The titanium pan can just be put in the fire to get cleaned too, it’s great.

Nice tarp setup. You’re in a beautiful place. Sometimes Kevin at Small Plots camps in places that look like the intro to a Stephen King movie. (Kidding.) Maybe drag him over to your neck of the woods for a show. That would be so cool. I like your fire building skills.

Another good video Sam, thanks for bringing us along. Something I do with the guy lines is to have the taught-line hitch on the tent/tarp side of the guy line (and a bowline at the stake) - that way if I have to retighten, I’m not running out so far. Have a great day.

Thanks so much Tommy! My three main knots are: Taut-line hitch, Canadian Jam Knot (also called an Arbor Knot) and the prusik knots. They are all pretty easy. Also check out a truckers hitch. I've got to go back and rewatch your videos first let me just say your skills at fire starting the whole Bushcraft getting the wood and setting things up awesome job. The rain was good I'll rewatch this video and many others I'm going to start paying more attention to why I like your style everyone's got a different style but I like how you get right into it start working your butt off nicely done.
