Excellent video especially the part about relationship building. Take your dog with you! I’ve had a similar experience by coincidence getting a breed I had no experience with (Great Pyrenees) 7 years ago after doing lots of research including 6 months on raw diets and it paid off with a great relationship and a healthy well behaved dog!

hey helen , well said , im a farther of a black lab thats a rescue cause his 1st owners abandoned him and then his 2nd owners could no longer keep him cause it got so chaotic for them , so i brough him home and 1st gave him 2 half months to adjust and ger comfortable with me , add fuel to the fire here i spent a entire year working on training him that in a month and half time i turned him in to a respectable ESA cause i have autism spectrum disorder which is a brain defect , he helps me stay calm and so over the course of a year me and my sister in law have bonded with him , or least i've bonded with my 6 year old black lab stronger then ever , i trained him to have decent recall , he knows sit and shake and i even trained him boundary so he knows that under no circumstances is he allowed to pass my steps leaading upstairs hallway , that its come to a point now that if im on the sofa he'll sometimes lay on his back all over me and fall asleep , and as jason said i trained him to know that he can be on the sofa if he on blanket it at any point he is not on the blaney i redirect him by saying blanket / blanky repeatedly untill he is on blanket , so im working on training him which reminds me i need to do more leash work with him now before march revs up so thay when concert season starts i can take him out in public more often so he is presented respectably

I really appreciate what you said. I’ve had 3 Rottweilers now & just love the breed. But the work is real & constant. We decide who they get to be bc we’re their parents & teachers.

I use NuVet..which you will find link to them under Joint Care for Canines in my description. Also I use the conditioner spray on them a couple times a week which I think has sped up BWs coat regrowth post surgery. It has hyaluronic acid in it.

Stop spreading absolutely fake news. Also Labs are responsible for the 2nd most bites after pitbulls. You may want to educate yourself because you clearly are lacking in this department.
