Iv gotten a few tanks that were painted early in there lives im assuming an the paint took well leaving a layer of protection.. esp from the sun and on those white Honda tanks from the mid 90s. Same deal with air boxes.

Hi Cameron Today the thread in my plastic tank that holds the plastic started leaking fuel. I have filled with a bolt and washer and have used hardener to cover bolt completely Is there another way I can fix it , it’s middle bolt so doesn’t affectplastic and still tight , may just leave it like that and get a plastic welder and put a peice over tip and melt it into tank

The inside can be cleaned with water and degreaser to remove any debris

How long does this finish last? The examples I have seen look good but go back to the same dull/white finish in under a month?

I’d put some kind of coating on it or it might not last. I’ve done the linseed oil/paint thinner mixture and it’s held up pretty good over the last few months. Maybe a ceramic coating would work too

? If done this way it lasts same as new finish. I’ve been doing this for 10 years now
