Orofacial myofunctional therapy is neurological retraining of the muscles of the mouth, throat and jaw. If the tongue is not supporting the jaw, if the jaw muscles are working too hard, if a person has a tongue-tie this can lead to muscle strain and muscle disfunction. Disfunction can lead to pain. Training muscles so they are strong and useful and working correctly can bring great relief to all the muscles surrounding!
