Okay, the best part of the bit is not just the way it's presented up front, but the way that MBT picked cards he could come up with explanations both for why the cards were terrible and why the cards were good so no matter what Farfa said he could get 0-5'd

I love this, because i think this very well captures the flaws of this kind of video. You show a genuinely strong card, that was good like last meta, fell of this format for some reason and will probably take off again next format. Or like just completely arbitrary subjective reasons. It's like showing kash unicorn in one of these and when the guesser says it's good you're like "well actually kashtira is bad now, so no" and if they say its bad, you say "well actually it's so good, that their boss monster arise heart just got recently banned".

The joke is that "good" depends on context, and if you mean "does it see play right now" 99% of cards would be considered bad, including tearlament cards, spright cards, and most kashtira cards now that arise-heart is banned.

This is all under the absurd assumption that a YuGiOh player could read his own cards which has been proven wrong many times over the years

I’ve put a sizable amount of effort into avoiding the “can X player evaluate cards from Y game?!” Videos but I’ve made an exception for this because I’ve always wanted to know how well yugioh players might understand yugioh cards. Great video. But real talk the overall subject does slightly annoy me. I mean how is someone from a totally different game supposed to know how good a card is? People can’t accurately predict how good cards are even if they’ve played a game their whole lives. And don’t get me started on the videos where it’s clear that the host has no knowledge of the game the other person plays and can’t actually communicate why cards are or aren’t good. Nothing against people making a living in the content mines, but man this trend got old for me after the first video.
