How are you able to get together to make that recipe? I saw something that Alvin did and he made it out of his own home because he couldn't go out. Aren't things somewhat worse for you in California or wherever you are? Obviously wishing you both the best, just confused. If/when you read this, hope you're having good day.

@@lilangel_555 I'm aware. "Hai" translates to "yes" so "haiiiiii" and "yaaaaas" have the same connotation. That's what I meant the first time, I should have been more clear.

Hai. Is how you spell it not the greeting word Hi and Dominic Go is saying that the subtitles were translating “yasss” when Alix said “Haiiiii” and it was funny to Dominic. Roseyxo you are making it more confusing. Hai is a Japanese word meaning yes

I give Alix credit for trying this challenge. Japanese is a tough language to learn. At least for me. I took it for two years in college and was an exchange student for a semester in Tokyo.

Her saying it was mentally exhausting was very relatable. Lol As a high school student I started abroad in Japan for a year and stayed with almost zero Japanese ability. It was VERY mentally exhausting and by the end of the day I was always so tired. But now I understood everything Rie was saying so I guess it payed off!

Very interesting. I feel like it's because Alix and Rie have such rapport that Alix can infer certain things from Rie's tone and body language. Makes you think, a LOT of our communication is non verbal :)

So, I'm only good at languages in context? like, my brain doesn't like learning languages (even though I want to), but with enough context I can usually parse what's going on. So videos like this make me so happy. They're so happy, and excited when they have a mutual understanding and it's just fucking wholesome okay?
