Just finished an oil change on my 650 Mossy Oak and used your video as a guide. Your step by step illustration was spot on. One thing I did however was drill a hole in the small, upper, black, plastic panel covering the oil filter cap in the right foot well area. The hole is inline with the top screw holding the cap in place as I found it very difficult to finger start that top screw from within the wheel well without removing the small plastic panel covering it in the foot well area which is something I wanted to avoid. That allowed me to insert a ratchet extension piece and socket through the hole in the panel and onto the top screw head from within the right foot well and then tighten it with the ratchet. The other two oil cap screws were relatively easy to finger start and then tighten. Thanks.

Great video. I have the same atv and I dread doing this oil change every year. It's impossible to keep oil from getting all over the skid plate, which causes oil to drip from various spots making a mess on my garage floor. I've always taken off more panels just to try and get less oil on the skit plate and be able to clean up more when it does.

Probably common sense but for newbies, be careful threading the dip stick in. Its soft plastic so make sure its lined up right. My buddy cross threaded his after checking his oil while on the trail and once it happens you cant get it to seal again until you replace it. any water and mud you get into after that is sketchy business. It should be made out of aluminum at least but regardless, dont try to thread it back in while sitting on the quad. Get off and make sure its seated properly

Cool, just what I was looking for. Changing the air filter I see people were also taking the instrument cluster off and changing the oil someone else took the whole side panel and footrest off to get to the oil filter. Your way seems to be an easier way.

Nice the push pins get hard after a while. Buy a bunch of new ones for $15

What about the 140 grease fittings. The trans oil, and the one way bearing greasing. That requires special grease to the tune of $57.00. hardest four wheeler to service I have ever owned. And I have bought 14 of them all of the name brands. Hands down most difficult to service.

Oil type? Oil capacity? Location of oil filter? Filter type and size? New O ring on oil filter cover per service Manual? A how to and guide answers such questions.

Need to info for all bolts. Even the oil used and how much. It was good, but just a few small things would make it perfect. Thanks for the video.

Why is everyone on KZfaq taking off the floor boards, side plastics, seat, dash cluster, just to get to the oil filter. You only took out the inside plastic of wheel well. Then they call it a three beer job. Holy smokes. I like your method better.
