I think you nailed it. If you have the time and expertise to fix it ,Can Am is not a bad unit. But to the average person, this would be at a dealer for a month and cost a fortune to fix.

This was a good video. I'm trying to hunt down the same problems encountered here on my son's 1000. Course, its working perfectly, but wasn't on his Hatfield McCoy trip. I'm guessing its plastic rubbed wires and a corroded kill switch. When things work in the heat of day, but not in the morning, there's a bad wire/ground that's not happy. subbed.

My Can am 2015 xT going into limp mode, has E code coming up ....thinking its down around the area by the right foot you pointed out in your Video....not sure what the wires are hooked up to....would you know

How did you run the wires instead of bunching them back up

My Rene is at the best mechanic around and he has tried everything. Go to start it it’s fires 2/3times and coils stops send power. New coil pack, wires, plugs, crank pos sensor, tried new ecm, ecm goes to start up and then shuts downs . Mech said it had to be in the harness

So when I turn my key to the on side nothing turns on such as the dash, lights, wont crank or anything and it doesn’t have spark any idea why?

I vote you get and build either a pioneer 1k or maybe a new talon. I think you said it best that if you have the knowledge to fix a Can-Am they can be reliable however the fact remains that you still have to fix what the factory must up, fresh out of the box.

I wonder if can am watches mud puppy videos and makes improvements to their quads?...probably not a bad idea for them to check this stuff out and fix it and also it seems to me that all Yamaha needs to do is put a 1000cc power plant on their grizzly and can am might really have some trouble but I don’t know what do you think.

How did you remove the plastic causing under the seat ? I need to get at my starter solenoid to change it out.

Same thing happened to me 3 wires going to my kill and start and everything switch had 3 cut wires by the harness and it killed my fourwheeler under water

everyone i know in the can am fam is also an expert at rebuilding diffs too haha. still BRP to baby (Beats Riding a Polaris) ..lol

My can am is not like that. Super clean wiring. Just depends on who built your unit. I build peterbilts, trucks are the same way.

Never seen so many problems on a can am. I had an outlander xmr for 3 years had over 3k miles on it and it lived 90% of its life in red mud from top trails and the only problem I had out of it was u joints because I didnt grease them and the rear def seal because that things a joke. It leaked from day 1. Even had factory wheel bearings when I sold it and factory belt. Never had an electrical issue at all.

I dont do any heavy mud riding but I have 8000k on my 12 g2 800r and the worst issue is the cheap warm winch they put on them can am reapaced it 2 and every time I'd get stuck it wouldn't even pull me out lol

Can't stand my Can Am Renegade and I just bought it. I can tell it will be constant work. Not having it at all. Going to sell it immediately and get out of the nightmare that is Can Am ATV's.

I got a 700R Yamaha Raptor I wanted to jump into something different because I'm 43 years old but I'll tell you one thing Can-Am is not for me not for that kind of money way too expensive if you have to fix stuff all the time and you are not the only one on KZfaq Believe Me I did my research I got 87 hours on my Yamaha Raptor 700R 2018 I only did rear brakes front brakes and rear tires basically maintenance the only repair I got coming up is the chain and sprockets which is also maintenance you have to do that every hundred hours

Never had any problem till the sh- neighbors started to mess with it then I’ve had a bunch of bogus seals start leaking because the neighbors messed them up with a razor blade

New rear diff, leaking front output shaft. Visco lok didn’t even make an attempt to lock up in other video( didn’t even make noise like it was trying) Electrical has no seals and hasn’t had no di-electric grease to repel water and mud which has let to visual corrosion in the key plug. Tires wore down. Engine running rough at low rpms. And what kind of Mileage does this abused, untaken care of, sad monster have? This is the only belt drive wheeled toy I would even consider but a USED machine that’s been water logged? Why new Honda’s and old renegade? Compression test the engine or do a cylinder leak test? That would explain some low rpm issues.

imagine buying 15,000+ bike or whatver they cost and having to rewire the entire thing after hitting some mud and water lol.... honda all day

stay out of water if you don't like fixing things !
