You can learn a lot from the word "squirrel". The Germanic language countries say it pretty close to the American way, but the Romance language people have to consciously try to not roll the "r", and it ends up a little different.

@rogdarorfod They didn't know I met a couple of these people before 😅 This is why I was laughing a lot. 😂 But for the sake of the video, we still proceeded with it and I tried to explain my guess based on accent, fashion etc haha. Hope it was still an enjoyable video and yall could guess along too!

It might be because of my exposure to names through various media, so I would have been able to narrow it down through knowing the first name. For example, Svea to me sounded like a name of Scandinavian origin so I would have considered it "Not France". Claudia sounded like the name would originate from the Italian peninsula so I would have been able to rule her out as well.

I didn't pay attention to the thumbnail, and I was really surprised that Svea is from Germany! I was convinced that she was giving off eastern European model vibes (in the broad definition of eastern Europe). I want to hear what her ancestry is so I can feel partly right 😂

I might be mixing up videos here, since there's quite a lot of them, but I thought that the german and US woman have met (at least through video appearances) before. Idk, maybe the US woman didn't remember or I'm simply mixing it up sorry. I know from previous videos that the german girl mentioned a couple times that she speaks fluent french, so when they spoke some french there at the end I thought it'll be a close call. She also did a great job masking her german accent that we have previously heard in other videos. I have to manually think to pull that off, so doing that while on the hot seat is pretty impressive.

Good job Chrstina! It was just the fashion that gave the French girl away; it was her body language. In general, I find that French people tend to look more serious looks on their face and not smile as much as people in other countries. What I just stated is a generality and not true a hundred percent of the time of course.

0:31 I'm now aware that we Germans pronounce the French word 'chic' wrong and English speakers do it more correctly. We have the word 'schick', which is pronounced as English 'chick' (not really but almost). But the correct pronunciation is English 'cheek'.

it depends where, in switzerland there's some different accent in the french part, someone from Geneva who will speak english will have a very noticable french accent too i think

Okay, it is maybe weird, but I was thinking of 1 and 3 because of the facial expressions. I don't know, maybe because I'm French as well, but I think our facial expressions say a lot about where we are from. I think we almost have an awkward face compare to Americans who seem easily extroverted for example.

Except for the shoes, Ms France dresses like a French : the dress, the jewellery, the hair done that way, everything is so French. If an Italian would also dress that way, that means French and Italian have the same sense of fashion and good tastes 😁.
