Yeah Ash kinda sucks having non evolved Pokémon for like 2/3 of the entire series. When you see a level 47 totodile, you usually think of Pokémon mystery dungeon. But either way, another Joe banger, and it was a great start to my day since it’s my birthday. Much love as always, and very excited to see the rest of the can ash win series Number 26

It always erked the fuck out of me in the anime. They literally give you all three starters in the two first seasons and I understand the whole "it's up to them" thing but it's just absolute wasted potential and becomes tiresome after awhile too. You can say it's the power of friendship all you want but facts are facts. Your non evolved mons are shit compared to their fully evolved forms and the only reason you manage to win at all is plot armor

Ash's Cyndaquil (Crystal) - Lazy, gentle, can't use Flamethrower not before warming up. Sunny's Cyndaquil/Quilava (HeartGold Nuzlocke) - Is heavily breathing all the time, the heavily traumatized starter Pokémon, and is friendly with every Pokémon in Sunny's team, he mastered Fire Blast and did Voltorb Flip with Sunny, the survivor and MVP of the dreaded Whitney battle. Togepi/ Togetic (Supposedly Misty's friend, but was given as a special occasion for the Nuzlocke, warrior of the Morty battle)

It does. In the early gens light ball doubled pikas special attack, and then later generations included regular attack too. But my pikachu was doing way to much damage to not have a boost.

8:10 - Mind-blowing how closely you’re managing to sync up modded game to show so well. I would’ve just learned Coin Case and PC exploits to have Cyndaquil and Totodile pre-benched on a “fresh” file and pulled them out after clearing the Gym before Ash were to put them on roster.

Were it me, I would’ve just Time Capsuled the freebie Kanto Starters and Pikachu (as mint as I could get away with) from a fresh file of Yellow and used Charmander as a desperation option had Pikachu and Chikorita somehow (somehow!) not be enough to muscle past Falkner on their own.

Umbreon not as cool as espeon... you sir are mistaken. Umbreaon is better in every way. It can learn the same moves as espeon, and more. Is an incredible tank. Espeon is a glass Canon. And umbreon looks better, win for the dark side.

@Nuzlocke Joe I don't remember what exactly he says but he says something along the lines of "[rival] stole a Pokémon from me, and I'm still rattled by it. Can you please take this Pokémon to keep it safe?" before giving you the Shuckle, and the next time you see the rival after that is when he first has his Sneasel, which is also way too low level to have come from Mt. Silver, so either he bred it from a Sneasel he got elsewhere (which why would he do that) or more likely that's the Pokémon that was stolen from the Shuckle guy.

it really does seem like he has a compulsion to throw away his best pokemon 27:30-the rival probably stole the sneasel from the crystal version of the ice path since you can find it there in crystal version lol at that pikachu sweep of lance with plot armor activating and carrying you through, definitely an anime moment. Neat first try wins again Blue and Red

There are plenty of ways to get into Rom hacking, I only just started last year. And changing gym leader Pokémon isn’t a super difficult thing to do. This is the channel I used to get started.

To be honest, I actually wish that Pokemon Crystal incorporated anime events into the games in the same manner as Yellow. For instance, have Kris/Gold start off with a Pikachu that follows you and make all of the Johto starters available in the same routes/towns Ash got them in the anime. Also, update the wild pokemon/gym leader`s pokemon to match the anime.

@@NuzlockeJoe No, what I meant was that it would of been cool if the programmers of Pokemon Crystal incorporated more anime events such as Pikachu following you and obtaining all three starters at their respective towns/routes in the anime.

So I kinda thought about it, but just didn’t feel like making all those changes. In hindsight, it probably would have saved some time though. There’s also the fact that he faces a blaziken, who doesn’t exist in johto

@@NuzlockeJoe Yes the blaziken & keckleon could be replaced by a hitmonlee and magmar/Typhlosion w/ fire punch and a Girafarig (confusion)/ghastly line (lick/hypnosis). Don’t get me wrong I’ve always wanted to play in regards of the anime so I truly love your product!

I’m glad to hear that! I have the Hoenn gameplay completed, but still need to do the editing, which is not my favorite part. So it’ll be out next month at the latest.

Nah man, I would never joke about anything to do with Pokémon. For real though, they were the same Pokémon from the previous video, but it’s not possible to do the same for gen 3 unfortunately
