Azula in the Spirit Temple was just released. It gives us more insight into what going on inside her head. I think it’s time we answer the age-old question Can Azula be Redeemed? We're going to go in-depth chatting about the depths of her character to find out. We'll be looking at the show and the comic to figure it out. Spoiler ahead for the new comic! Hope you enjoy it.
This is just my opinion. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so if I got something wrong, or you have something to point out please do so in a constructive way. We’re here because we’re all passionate about this show. Be kind and willing to listen. You never know what you might learn!

As Asami once said in a comic "People can get redeemed, but with actions, they can't just go good overnight". Azula can change, but she must put a huge effort to achieve redemption

What really bothers me about this question is that they were going to have Zuko help Azula find redemption in a fourth season and be there for her the way Iroh was always there for him. For that reason alone I'm also quite convinced that she will find happiness eventually, no matter how long that may be. I've been waiting for a sign of redemption for Azula ever since the original show ended, and although there have been hints here and there, it finally feels like it's getting somewhere. It would certainly be great if it turns out this novel was just the first part of a trilogy or something, the same way they made one story each for Katara, Toph and Suki. I really like the point you made about Azula facing her past without letting it defeat her. So the way she confronted her past in this story could be the beginning for her to confront and deal with her present and future. But hey, that's just me...

I really appreciate this book because I finally feel like we have solid evidence as to what truly goes on in Azula's head. From the original show, The Search, and Smoke and Shadow, it felt like it was a possibility...but it probably wouldn't. I was reading the new comic, and although it was a little bleak, it put a smile on my face. It made me happy to finally see progress. I truly hope that she finds happiness in the future. It would be nice to see a trilogy come out of this for sure! Even if this is the last time we ever see Azula. I'm happy they left it open-ended. To let the fans ponder what comes next...and I think that's a great way to end a story =)

I can’t wait to see her next redemption comic following on from the previous one. She literally had no one except her Father. When you only have one figure you can remember ( and they are a manipulator and narcissist), chances are it’s a lot more complex to get out of this😅Her arc is so fasinating!

Please remember that it took a long time, and lots of failings before Zuko redeemed himself. It will be the same for Azula. I think she can change for the better. I think the one thing that may trigger Azula’s transformation is birth of Zuko's daughter Izumi. Azula will want to ensure that her niece will grow in a healthy household, and would want to protect her. There is a fanfiction from over 15 years ago, which i read it is called Junior Gaang, where Azula's bond with her niece slowly changes her. What do you think? The question is when are we going to get the next story about Azula? Something that Morgan from Airspeed prime discussed. You should check his review and his discussion about the comic. I rellay hope her story will not be left up in the air for years, like it happened with Smoke and Shadow.

In addition, Azula's journey should be different from Zuko. Otherwise it will not be good if Azula's redemption is copy/paste of Zuko's. We are all unique individuals. Zuko redemption worked well with Zuko, and Azula's redemption will have to be something that works well with Azula, unique to her. And she does not have to be close friends with team avatar, however it will great if her relationship with family, as well as Mai Ty lee heals. Are you surprised that it is Ty Lee that leads a missions against Azula? As for team avatar, I envision her relationship being like Iroh II in legend of Korra. Iroh II is not close friends with new team avatar, but more of an acquaintance (from what i understood) who steps in to help when necessary. What do you think?

As much as I love Azula, I don't think she's a complete character yet. She has triumphs and traumas, but she doesn't have a drive. As I said she's aimless, I kind of like that aspect. There is a whole other side to her we haven't seen. The possibilities of where the story goes from here are endless. That being said, I would like to see her transformation be triggered by something other than the past. Find a Fire Nation town that's in need or another temple. She can go back and deal with the post later. But I just want to find something that is just for her that isn't connected to any other Avatar character...if that makes sense? I am not that consider about when the next story comes. I would much rather be left waiting for a good story for years than have a rushed product. But that might just be me...haha! I'll check out the Airspeed Prime discussion, thanks =)

Am I surprised by Ty Lee leading a mission against Azula...no. She was bound to show up. That being said, I really hope Ty Lee isn't the person who guides Azula's redemption. There is way too much of a power unbalance between them. I don't think Azula would ever truly listen to her. If it has to be someone from her past I would much rather see Mai help. Both are direct and blunt in their explanation of things. She wouldn't be afraid to tell Azula what she thinks. I like that comparison there! Yeah, she's doing her own thing, but will help out now and again. This might be coming a little out of left field, but I kind of see Azula becoming how Toph is in the Legend of Korra. A hermit living her life away from all the chaos. Just living the simple life...I don't know.

@@CinemaOverAnalyzedI actually thought about it too. Azula starting a new life somewhere else. I had a story in mind at one time where Aang takes Azulas bending away after one of confrontations, and Azula ends up in jail, sending Azula in a deep crisis of identity. Azula escapes takes up new identity and moves to republic city where she meets someone falls in love and has a new family far away from Zuko Ursa and everyone else in her family. Zuko at some point tracks her down but decides to leave Azula be, seeing that her new life and family brings her happiness. In my story Azula is the mother of Hiroshi Sato and grandmother to Asami without them being aware.

@@CinemaOverAnalyzedto me it looks like Ty Lee will not stop until she captures Azula. Considering that Ty Lee was the one more afraid for Azula. I was surprised too.

You know, there's supposed to be an animated Zuko movie coming out in a few years. Would be set during the period where him and Azula are in their 20s. It'll be interesting to see if maybe they incorporate some of the Season 4 ideas (Zuko helping Azula the way Iroh helped him, etc.) into that movie. I'd be all for it.

Azula must be Shinigami with power of her father Kavaxas and hairstyle of Karai. And I hope she will play with Mr Long-Feng "walk the dog"🐶🐕🐺

Spongebob is🤣👍Azula must work for Mr. Yakone Krabs and his son Tarlok Perkins because she can't play with Yakone "walk the dog" like with Mr Long Feng. Yakone obeys only her father, lord of the demondragons Ozai, who is in the netherworld now
