I have a question. So I currently have my CDL A and I am a newly diagnosed Diabetic and my medical card expires in about three weeks. Will I be able to renew it by the if I show that I am taking my meds and watching my levels closely? I am taking Ozempic but only once I week to help with weight lose. My biggest worry right now is losing my job and the pay it brings.

I just got diagnosed with diabetes and I’ve never had low sugar until after I was diagnosed. I did everything I could to lower my a1c from 14.2 down to 10.2 in 4 weeks. My company said it wasn’t good enough. That I didn’t do enough and need to do more to get it lower. Am I wrong in being pissed about this? I busted my butt trying to do whatever I could to get this a1c lower and it’s not good enough? I take my metformin, started going to the gym 4x a week, cut out ALL sugar and 99% of my carbs. I eat lettuce, carrots, and chicken breast, pan cooked without any oil or sauce of any kind. The only time I’ve had any sugar in the last 2 months is when my glucose dropped to 47, 59, 44, and 65. ( had to look the numbers up on my meter) Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong? Why is it not good enough? Why won’t it drop faster before these “people” I work for fire me? Honestly what is even the point of continuing at this point? Apparently according to the people I work for and a lot of others I’m just some defective lazy piece of trash… all because I enjoyed my soda?

@@EasyDOTPhysicals I’m trying not to. But I’m finding it really hard to even see the point. It’s not like I haven’t tried. I went from 310lbs to 235lbs, i cut out sugar, most carbs, ( like no bread, pasta, rice, cookies, ext) most fats and oils. ( I eat lean red meats and chicken) I eat lettuce, celery, carrots, and green beans for my fillers. I just can’t eat 2-3 x a day… I work 12-14 hours and get a 30 min lunch. I try and snack on stuff but my stupid sugar keeps dropping to low. Speaking of… there’s my alarm. Low again. 57. I just want to know what to do and all the doc says is eat more… when I’ve told them I can’t.

I am not a doctor but I do have a basic understanding of how the a1c works. 4 weeks is too soon to see such a huge drop in that number considering a1c is basically a measure of blood sugar in a longer period of time. This is one of those situations that you just keep working on it day by day. I used to be at 9.7 but then switched to a more ketogenic diet with more fat for fuel which helps with not being hungry and brought it down to 7.1 over a 6 month period. Don't give up on what you are doing and if you see that your sugar levels are going down, I'd lean to eating some more protein as it will be filling and if you eat too much your body will convert it to glucose. If you really are craving something sweet, I highly recommend getting the sweetener from Stevia with Monk Fruit in it. It tastes sweet and it basically a 1 to 1 replacement for sugar with 0 glycemic impact (safe for diabetics).

@@williamcopps947 I finally got to where my job wanted me to be. 8 weeks and I got my a1c down to 7.7 my doctors are upset and have now taken me off metformin because my levels have been 32-67. I am doing better physically now. But they are worried that I sent my body into shock with how fast I dropped it. I am sorry. I am now seeing both a therapist and a psychologist. I’m on antidepressants and anxiety meds and am trying to talk through all this. Just need time I guess. Thank you for the info, I will try.

Animal based diet, intermittent fasting, exercise, berberine, Ceylon cinnamon, and most importantly prayer. Mine is completely reversed. Sadly in this country you will never be labeled cured as big pharma runs everything. DOT doctors are not pleasant to deal with, should not be that way.

If you ate it the day before and it was high a day later you are diabetic. I am diabetic, controlled and mine will go up to 200 but comes right down to normal within an hour. I am diet controlled
