For me, Shaw starts with Trippier ready to come on whenever needed in the early games. Hopefully Shaw will be fully up to speed from the group stage on. I agree that Guehi will start but don’t;t really understand not taking Branthwaite. He’s been awesome in that position for one of the best defences in the league last season. As it is, it will be Guehi and Stones, but would be delighted to see Konsa feature - he’s looked great for England so far and is so calm (and talented, obviously)…

Ryan is spot on about Konsa, he has been brilliant for England and is very much suited to international football. Also agree with Justin's 3 behind Kane... Come on England!

This England team is a bunch of talented individuals but it should have been settled months and months before the tournament started to give time to gel. Even up to the second to last friendly, Southgate was still trialing players who got in the final squad with 30 minutes of international football!!Although it was refreshing to see Southgate pick inform players he lost too many tournament experienced players at the same time. Team for the future under a different manager but can see us struggling this year.

Very difficult team to pick because of the wealth of talent in certain areas, it’s ironically our strength and weakness at the same time… all of our best players want to play in the same positions. For me though, Foden, Bellingham, Palmer and even Kane all like to come short towards the ball and we lack that width/expansive running in behind which is what Kane needs to hit top gear. With that in mind, as controversial as this is I would play the following team to face Serbia; Pickford Walker Stones Guehi Trippier Rice Gallagher Gordon Bellingham Saka Kane Leaving Foden on the bench to many is the unthinkable as he’s one of our best players but we need balance so the star/flair players can shine in my opinion, really really tough to pick this team though. Only other way of getting him in is possibly on that RH side over Saka but I’d like to see Gordon start. Hopefully whatever team gets picked can do the business tonight 🤞🏻 🦁🦁🦁

If our defence can have a good tournament then we can definitely win it as our Midfield and Attack is excellent it’s nice to dream but I can’t see it sorry. Stones and Shaw are never fit too and he will try and play them another reason our defence will get disrupted and as much as I love Konsa he isnt ready for the top top games and as for Lewis Dunk no chance and Trippier has had personal issues and isn’t himself too the defence is going to be our downfall I’m afraid.

If he is going to play Guehi LCB I don’t understand why Tyreik Mitchell wasn’t taken as a lb due to his club connnection and he is a good defensive lb should have been taken instead of Gomez for me.

How can you say play players in form and drop Gordon who not only gives you width but helps out midfield and the full back. Also he’s been Englands best player in our last game🤷‍♂️ we need width and if you play palmer and Foden it won’t work they not only take up each others space they also get in the way of the other front men🤷‍♂️ Midfield if you just tell Rice you sit your the holder, then it allows Bellingham and Foden a free role who are probably Englands best players. If you want to play two holding midfield players then I’d play Wharton in front of Mainoo only because Mainoo is more of a 8 and Wharton is more of a 6 and the lad is more aware of what is around him and very comfortable on the ball.

Why isn't Braithwathe in the team if we are talking about chemistry, England GK is Pickford .. from the same team. I would have loved to see Stones - Braithewthe partnership.

Justins team gets my vote.. I don't like Gordon in the team and agree with Ryan on that one.

Unfortunately, the only player that can play to Ollie Watkins strengths was Jack Grealish.
