We've done many monotype hardcore nuzlockes... but would it be possible to beat a hardcore nuzlocke with only ONE Pokemon!? We're going to need a powerful Pokemon if we're to do so; how about the legendary Kanto Pokemon, Mewtwo!? Let's tackle the Red and Blue remakes, FireRed and LeafGreen with this Legendary Pokemon!
Today we find out: can I beat a Pokemon FireRed Hardcore Nuzlocke with only Mewtwo? No items and no overleveling!

Single-Pokemon Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
(1) Only one of the listed Pokemon can be caught (Pokemon allowed for HM purposes).
(2) If the Pokemon faints, the attempt is immediately over.
(3) No items can be used in battle (Held Items are allowed).
(4) No overleveling past the next Gym Leader/final Elite 4 Member's ace.
(5) Only the listed Pokemon can be sent into battle at any time.

Caterpie is pure Bug which wins against Psychic Pokémon. Weedle is part ☠️ which loses to psychic Pokémon.

Silph, would like to suggest doing a Team Rocket Grunt Pokemon - only run. A change up from the monotype and it’d be interesting to see if you can take over the diff regions as a rocket grunt

I could see a Platinum run with Giratina, or Gen 4 in general with Arceus being fun too. The Arceus could be really cool actually cuz you’d be unlocking new types as you go

Mewtwo is a great choice to test out how smooth a single Pokemon Nuzlocke can go! I'd love to see some solo or even tag team Nuzlockes, I'm looking forward to it!

I love the idea of a tag-team run idea. Or even like a type matchup like 2 or 3 Pokémon in the party but can only be say like ghost, ground, or water type. Idk something like that.

How about a Hardcore nuzlocke of a game of your choice with only Eeveelutions? Obviously you're allowed to hack in the Eevee encounter, since not many games give you Eevee at the beggining. Great video btw.

Perhaps multiple runs. Given gen 1 only had 3, gen 2 introduced two more as did gen 4 and the final one in gen 6.

You could try Mewtwo in other generations, Heart Gold/Soul Silver or Emerald. What could also be interesting is next doing a run with the Pokemon that caused Mewtwo the most difficulty. In this case a Firered run with Starmie, Exeggutor, and Jynx. Since those three caused Kanto's most powerful Pokemon the most trouble, how well could they take on the region?

Honestly, I see no reason to use Aerial Ace when Exeggcute’s Special Defense is so low that Psychic will still do a lot, and you’re going in after an Intimidate.

I’ve been doing something like this but with Tyranitar. I even decided to implement pure-rock Tyranitar into gen 1 as to fit with its mechanics so I could do it in every game. In Emerald right now which may very well be among the harder ones. Intend to make some videos about it once I’m further along!

I would wager its harder, because you wipe in a hardcore nuzlocke whereas, in minimum battles, at least the challenges I have seen, you only reset to before the lost battle.

Lorelei was definitely my favourite battle. You were frozen at 10hp and somehow MewTwo, the most powerful Pokémon in this game, takes down an entire team of Pokémon after several close calls!

I really enjoyed the video but to be honest i think the monotype runs were much more entertaining because they involve so much more strategy than a single Pokemon run. A lot came down to luck in this run and while close battles surely are exciting, I find it way more interesting to see you strategize around your teams weaknesses rather than using one move for an entire fight and just hoping it hits every time. Love u tho it's a great vid! :D

do a flying type only run in Kanto. WIth encounters like Charizard, Aerodactyl, and Dragonite, as well as dark horses like Dodrio, it would be a really cool run with all of the type diversity. You have flying, normal, bug, dragon, rock, fire, water, and electric and ice if you count the legendary birds

I dunno, one time I lost a Nuzlocke to Bruno of all people. Though that was mainly because I replaced Drill Peck with Fly on Dodrio so I could go back and get some TMs from Celadon. Either way it was dumb.
