Heck YA! - but here are some thing to think about . maybe you want to consider using a wooden support instead - especially if it is really really big! Have fun :)

thanks, this video was really helpful. i have seen people draw on board but i never knew there is a wooden canvas. Always taught canvas are made of cloth and prime with white gloss and white glue on something.

Thank you! This is something i was wondering too. Should it.be before painting, after, or doesn't matter.

Just an idea, could you lay the painting down on a casting surface cut some strips of wood like you did in the video, then pour a 1 or 2mm coat of resin on the rear side and then install your wood strips and pour more resin over them... possibly you could use foam or even a layer of jumper material like the car audio guys do! Once cured turn it over it'll be solid enough to finish it.

Just wondering, did you prime the wooden canvas at all first? And after painting, was any varnish used before the resin?

I was wondering if you knew a way to get duct tape of cured resin? I used it as a mold to keep resin from escaping the void in a walnut slab. It worked but now I'm having trouble getting all of it off. Thanks!

I read an article that suggested dusting it cornstarch to absorb the oils, then wipe it down with a soapy rag a few times until the residue is removed. I'm a newbie, not sure if this works, but it's worth trying.

I tried resin on wood panel, but after a few months yellow streaks came through from the wood underneath and ruined it. The area it ruined was quite light so you could see the yellowing..

+Debbie Collins what resin did you use? we have some accelerated weathering tests going on to see how long it lasts! artresins new formula is performing VERY WELL!!!
@debbiecollins7499

+ArtResin Hi, yes it was a different brand I used. The resin itself didn't yellow, it was coming through from the wood underneath.

+Debbie Collins hmm interesting. may need to pre-seal the wood first then!!!! a few coats of varnish
@debbiecollins7499

+ArtResin Yes that's what I'm gonna try, coats of varnish, then gesso, then the painting on that.

I love teh resin on canvas but my art turn yellow, what do yuu do? base coat? what dou you use to prevent turning yellow> thank you
@Artresin
@Artresin 2 жыл бұрын
We are sorry to learn that your artwork showed some signs of yellowing. While ArtResin contains some very powerful UV stabilizers in its formula, unfortunately UV is not the only cause for yellowing art. Other factors such as bulking, over torching, interactions with other art materials such as titanium dioxide which is found in most white paint, can all contribute to accelerated yellowing. Avoiding UV rays, excess heat, and allowing paints to cure fully prior to applying resin can help! We would be happy to help try to understand what happened, drop us a line with photos to support@artresin.com

Why not pour it (resin) onto canvas that is not attached to anything? Lay it on the the floor flat and pour. And then apply the canvas to a stretch or board eventually? would that work?

Can you fix one that has sagged
@Artresin
@Artresin Жыл бұрын
The best fix would be to lightly sand the cured resin surface then pour another layer of fresh resin over top. This fresh layer will level out the lower area and leave you with a nice flat smooth surface.
