Usually I purchase a faulty item on eBay, then try to fix it and sell for profit. Today was a bit different! We managed to get a switch on eBay for only £40, but also took a look at a faulty one from a long time ago with trace damage!

Got a switch lite with broken usb-c for 50€, will attempt my first port swap. Gotta start somewhere learning how to fix those. Wishing you all the best for Christmas and i really enjoy how you upped your repair game over all the videos you did now.

would love to see revisit videos, like anything with time and practice, we do get better and are always learning and improving, i'm willing to bet a lot of items you attempted to fix but couldn't back then might have a different story if you revisit them with what you've learned having done many more now

Loved the many switch related issues you covered today. I had some weird behavior with wifi chip failure that caused the switch to crash when it goes into standby. Otherwise all other features worked. Looks like you found the issue under that bga, a little flux/heat cleaned the corrosion under there.

Hey Joey. I discovered you via My Mate Vince, The Cod3r, StezStixFix and KZfaq's own algorithm. I have literally binge watched your videos from day one. Watching your journey, your soldering failures, your small wins through to where you are now has been both epic and inspiring. I'm a software developer by trade but I have absolutely zero soldering/electronics skills (I know the theory but that's it). Your videos are an inspiration, the embodiment of Michael Cane's line in Batman - "Why do we fall Sir? So we can learn to pick ourselves up." There is also nothing wrong with working in a dressing gown! Here's to an epic new year dude!

I just bought 3 PS3's from ebay. Very early versions. 1 is perfect, 1 has a hdmi issue, the other has ylod. all need a damn good clean. I wouldnt normally buy a ps3 batch but as 1 is a slim, and 2 are backwards compatable fats, its a win win for me. Hopefully ill get a video out early next year, but it will be a project to get fixed to get out of the way this christmas.

I think that would be an excellent idea for you to go back to things that you tried to repair when you first started that you were not able to fix and see if you can fix them now!

I bought a v1 two months ago, with joycons for 60€. I replaced the IC charger MT, the usb c port and other works but still in short, so i gave up... But i sold it for 90€ lmao, and i learn a lot of hand skills for sure!

why do we use Flux Paste on soldering stuff, does the Flux protect the motherboard from melting??

Not really related but I have a switch that I replaced m92 and the lcd connector and I get a boot loop with it stuck on the nintendo logo. Any tips? I get 15v and 0.49 amps and once it hits the logo it goes to about 1 amps and just doesn't move. I've let the battery drain out and I reflowed the Wifi chip so I'm at a loss. Thanks for the help!

You got a firmware mismatch The card reader gets updated together with the switch If you use a card reader that got a update for 14.0 on 13.0 is goin to crash is a safety take for Nintendo
