In this video I attempt to work out the top 10 most iconic songs by ear in just 30 minutes. This list was put together by FreeYourMusic and they compiled a list of the top 50 most iconic songs based on science.
If you think there should have been some other songs in the top 10, then let me know and maybe il do those in a future video!

I reckon I could have a good go, Indian music uses different scales and some microtonality though so it may be tough on a piano! 😊

I love your videos especially these ones when you play by ear never stop doing them never stop uploading videos you got me into piano three months ago thank you! And btw gg you're very good playing these songs in a short period of time is so incredible you nailed it as always maybe try a video play by ear with movie songs such as jurassic park the lord of the rings etc if you've never tried them before give you more time tho to do the songs lol

Very nice! I found your channel quite lately, this is maybe 4th or 5th video I saw and I admit you are extremely good teacher/narrator. I also try to learn playing many songs by ear and it was fascinating for me to see that I have almost identical approach. But my skills and knowledge are different story... I spend an hour to learn verse/chorus and another 50 hours to combine everything with chords. :) Definitely will check this channel more often from now on. New subscriber.

love your description of God Save the Queen 😂 your videos are fantastic and very watchable. But don't think it's possible to replicate this particular song on the piano.

Maybe a song by a female musician would've been nice. Your skill is amazing Matthew! I love watching you play! It didn't even look like your fingers are pressing down on the keys. I can't wait for the day my hands look like that when I'm playing 😂

I do compose every so often for commissions and things like that 😊 but I also have hundreds of tracks on my computer that have never seen the light of day 😂

Tell me how to play by ear, please. I'm sure you're asking yourself now, "Why should I teach this loser how to play by ear?" But hold on and listen. My life is challenging: I have chronic pain, kind of struggle with depression and negative thoughts. Whenever I play the piano (even though I'm not good at it), I feel free from my problems. So, in some way, you could make my life more bearable. Thank you so much
