In this video we're going to answer the question: Can you lose your job just because you can't pass your teacher certification exams? If you're a college student right now, getting your degree in education, you already know that you have to pass your exams in order to walk and get that diploma. This video is primarily a focus on people on the alternative certification track. Are you looking to get a job in the field of education and your degree is not in education, so you're under the gun.
You have a lot of requirements from your statement of eligibility. And some of those requirements are passing your certification exam. It doesn't matter if you live in Florida and Texas, in Massachusetts, in Tennessee, and California, Nevada, North or South Dakota, it's all the same. You have a series of exams that you have to pass in order to keep your job.

Thank you for the video! I am a Special Ed teacher and am in this boat. I have to take the PPAT in January and the Mild/Mod state test and pass both by next school year. My IEP workload, getting a master's in sped required by my state, and teaching has bogged me down. You have really great advice!

I didn't know teachers had to pass all these exams. My daughter is a teacher, remember she graduated college and I stayed on her to take those exams. I think our state gives them 2 years. But i told her she doesn't want something like that on her back. She failed 1 the first time, that Praxis 2 was unbelievably hard. I stayed on her, and she passed the 2nd time. Our state is so short teachers they won't fire them but they will only get substitute pay

I am one of those that needs one last certification exam. I need to take the Praxis Elementary Education 5205 exam. I’ve already taken it 3 times. Do you have any courses for this exam? I looked on your site but don’t see any. Can you recommend anything?

Lost my job and the district charged me 10 percent of my salary. Has anyone every heard of this or gotten a penalty like this from their school district of some sort?

I have failed the professional educator test 3 times by a question or two. It is the last thing I need for my certificate. I don’t know what else to do to pass. I probably have one more try at it before it is too late.
