To the people saying that John was just playing with these guys, I highly doubt that was the case. John used to go from tournament to tournament regularly. It wouldn't be that abnormal for him to do a big tournament in like florida (just an example) and then fly all the way to compete in a second tournament in a whole other state either the day after or two days after. Being an airline mechanic he got really cheap and many times free tickets to travel. I think one of the reasons he was so good was because of how many times he would compete. Having people hit your arm that many times forces calluses, micro-fractures, and tendon tears that heal up to become stronger and more solid. But he's still human and humans need rest to be fresh. I can't even feel my arms the day after a big tournament. Of course in a fresh match he would beat most anyone but it's not unrealistic that he could find some of these beasts who could put him down when he has wear and tear. Regardless, props to anyone who could do it. A weak John is still stronger than most.

as a non-arm wrestler; Why do the wrestlers massage their arms inbetween rounds? Is it to pull blood back into the arm? Or, push it out/along the arm and stretch the muscles+tendons? I wondered this because, if they are attempting to pull blood back into their arm; why not do 'arm wings/spins' (while deep breathing) between rounds instead? I figure that this exercise pulls blood into the arm more efficiently than simple hand massage. Maybe I'm wrong though, but I just wanted to ask :)
