Wife here. It’s true. We’re coached from a young age. We know how to sit back and enjoy letting a man lead the family, while we’re simply the secretary/nutritionist/and planner for everything that the husband shouldn’t be wasting his time on. I often throw dinner parties with live music and when I’m a guest at my husband’s friends parties I NEVER show up empty handed. I also cook lunch for my husband’s coworkers sometimes. As a single mother of 2. I realize how wrong my mother raised my sisters and I. I have one daughter and I will stress to her the importance of marriage and finding the happiness in supporting her husband and raising her children. I have to work 2 jobs to support these children without their fathers consistent presence. This is not a life I want for her. It’s time to save our younger female generation from the bad ways of life we’ve been programmed to accept.

I Agree. I'm 36 and single. I know that I'm going to end up staying that way and I have accepted it. I panic when I was 32 yrs old. My Mother raised me wrong, from a young age of 9 I heard negative things about Black Men all my Life daily from my Mother. She told me when I was 16 years old that a Black Man will one-day call me a B*tch. Or she would say black men ain't sh*t. I hope that older Black Woman and resentful Mothers stop poisoning younger Black Woman minds against Black Men, it's a vicious cycle.

I’m 25 in a committed relationship with no kids. I was at a restaurant talking to a female bartender and she asked if I had kids. I said no and I’m not in any rush and that I’ve seen my mother struggle to raise kids by herself. I want to be married before procreating. KS is so right about the transition from a marriage with children to an empty nester household. The more you take the time to date your wife and enjoy her company between raising kids, the less she’ll seem like a total stranger when it’s just the two of you. It also helps to stay in shape, to the best of your abilities, throughout your marriage. The goal is to be healthy enough to really enjoy your time together and to remain attractive to each other. Trust me, your kids would rather see you spend more time with your spouse then spend time doting over them.

Some women are not ok with their daughters having anything other than what they have achieved in life. That may also be a factor in discouraging your daughter to get married. Also, we have normalized single parenting when our grandparents were encouraged to marry at a young age and for women to seek marriage and family. Those may be factors.

I wish women wouldn't think of Femininity as a separate trait that some have and others don't. Deep- seated kindness, humility, anticipatory needs, beauty, etc. all lend themselves IMO to the gratitude we feel as being a woman and that is driven by the feminine self.

Oh yeah one last thing! To the Christian young lady. I’m a married Christian woman and ordained minister. The scripture you were attempting to reference is 1 Corinthians 7:6-8. However, to coincide with Mr. Samuels’ point, Paul was suggesting singleness it was not a commandment. Singleness is not preferred by most people. Therefore, Paul said, “it is better to marry than to burn.” Plus the verses prior to the verse I mentioned (the beginning of chapter 7) is all about Paul giving guidance for a healthy marriage. God would prefer us be married, thus that was Eve’s sole purpose (help meet/reproduce). God does honor those who wish to remain single, but that comes with a great sacrifice and commitment that most of us are not willing to submit to. Especially, if you are trying to remain single and wholeheartedly live under biblical principles. For most people (including myself), singleness is to great of a sacrifice to make so we prefer marriage. So Kevin was absolutely correct in this example!!! With all due respect ma’am be mindful going forward referencing scripture on a public platform such as this. Way more harm than good is done when you make biblical points but can’t support it accurately, especially on public platforms. Thought it may make a difference if you heard it from another woman.

Not for your refusal to workout and gluttonous habits. The most body positive thing you can do IS to take care of your body (mental and physical). Also they know if their daughters get a good job, then the daughters can financially help and care for them in their old age. Also the daughter won't be wasting money on a husband or kids, and all that attention, that the mother is getting from the daughter! While working overseas in Istanbul, Turkey I met a Filipina from NYC who dropped out of New York University Dental School (her last year, she only had 30 credits left) to marry a High Value Turkish man and returned to Turkey with him. Her friends back in NY thought she was crazy and begged her not to do it, not to "throw away her education and career". She said that was 6 years ago, she broke all ties with these friends, and has been happily married to her Turkish husband. Meanwhile, she has heard all these friends were all still single and struggling with student loans, miserably working long hours even on weekends and getting old. She feels she chose correctly.

One day, my daughter came home from school, a feminist teacher told her how men were oppressing and making women earn less. The patarachy. I put a stop to that non-sense right away. She came up to me, telling me off. My wife was trying to tell me to not talk to her about that stuff, I said hell no, she bought it up. I would not back down. I said it is manipulated statistics. I said that her stats were old too, now it is not 78%, but 80% etc, I think it I more now. Anyways, I asked my daughter this, "if women work cheaper, why are companies not just hiring all women to save 20% on labor costs?". I had to explain a bit, then she was perplexed, I mean sweetie, those companies would have a huge cost advantage. Well she started to get it. To make a long story short, I have worked hard to get my daughters to understand how God wants them to be so they can be good wives and not the toxic worldly women.
