Stallion the Freestyling Rocket League Bot is back to take on its most worthy opponent yet. After playing both former SSG pro Retals and professional freestyle Pulse Fire in shot for shot HORSE battles, we now move on to a bot vs bot showmatch. Stallion can can flip reset, air dribble, ceiling shot, ground pinch, and Musty Flick, but can it beat the smartest Bot in Rocket League? Nexto, the machine learning bot, has put in over 200 thousand hours of training to become the first Grand Champion Rocket League Bot. In this video we will see if Nexto's big brained defence can stop Stallion's freestyle shots. It's brains vs mechanics, bot vs bot, in this special version of Rocket League HORSE. Not currently because Stallions mechanics aren't actually real. If the ball was 1mm outside of where its suppose to be Stallion just doesn't work. Nexto is the exact opposite, where instead of built in coded plays, Nexto has tons and tons of constant micro adjustments to the point its unhuman

@@quadblueshadow3132 It's definitely possible, all you gotta do is program in all the possible setups, the shots that can follow the setups, and prioritize them according to which ones are likeliest to succeed depending on the scenario (amount of boost, amount of opponents and their location etc). It takes a hell of a lot of coding though, if you want the bot to have a varied shot selection.

nexto doesnt learn outside of training instances. also I doubt stallion's library is that big, so even if nexto could learn that way, it would just learn to defend the specific shots that stallion has, and might not generalize that knowledge.

@@shadowyzephyr I didn’t know he didn’t learn out of training instances and if he did you have to realize that by learning how to save those freestyle shots he is still learning how to read what the opponent is doing in the air and that would help with airial defense

Wow that's great detective work, you might be the 00.1%! In reality what you're seeing is probably the state setting as the bot adjusts itself to match the exact starting point of the pre-recorded human shot it is about to repeat. As for the overlay? It's an altered version of the same HORSE overlay I used for my videos against Retals and Pulse Fire, which in turn I based off how Musty set up his HORSE videos. Time and score is irrelevant in these videos as it's just unlimited time private matches so it's the best place to put the graphics. Originally I asked my son to make it but he had to go for his nap so I had to do it all by myself!

It is not. To learn a shot the freestyler has to be in the lobby with me and Stallion. Some of the ones I've used include Panther, Mesko, Reel, and Crunchy.

Does Stallion just use replay values to "learn" moves and just "Copies" them and executes them with perfect Replay level execution?

Replays don't store a lot of information. So Stallion has to learn by being in the private match with the play doing the shot. It then records the exact inputs being used.

I did test the Psycho that Stallion knows (as seen in the Pulse Fire video). But Nexto never even let him get it set up, it was too long of a shot.

@@criticaldawg Mostly I'm concerned you are going to expose the massive Content Creator Collective that all banded together to try to fool people into thinking Nexto was good.😅 You are correct that Nexto has good flicks. But let's not overlook it's defence as well. Nexto is referred to as a "GC" bot because it regularly beats GCs or at least gives them a good challenge. If you dont believe that all you have to do is go to the RLBot discord which regularly has high level players trying the bot and expressing their independent thoughts on its skills. But like all bots it has weaknesses. In videos you usually see people trying it for the first time and thus he will beat them. This is unprecedented territory for AI and I dont think it's incorrect to thus call it GC" unless you really want to get pedantic about it. Also I don't think it's fair to say the bot isn't good just because it uses one mechanic more than another. In fact I would expect there is a lot of GC ranked players that get to their rank while heavily relying on only a couple key mechanics or skills as well.

@@criticaldawg Good movement, fake challenge (better than some monkey GC1s!), and get a proper 50/50 on the ball. Has pretty good save positioning. Becomes more apparent when you learn to deal with the flicks.
