Custom Rocket League AI has come a long way over the last little while. From Freestyle Bots like Stallion that can flip reset and air dribble, to Machine Learning Bots like Nexto that can beat Grand Champions, Rocket League AI has taken the us places never thought possible just a couple years ago. But with all this progress made towards Rocket League Bots that can finally beat human players, most people don't realize that the developers in the RLBot community don't just spend all their time trying to make the next SSL Bot. No, bots with weird characteristics, abilities, functions or purposes have always been a large part of the Rocket League Custom AI family dating back to it's early days in 2017. In fact, that's pretty much how this community got started. These "meme bots" are made for fun competitions and showcases, but often don't gain much publicity. Today in this video I will showcase 7 of the weirdest Rocket League Bots ever made. From heatseeker gods, calculated killers, and bots that copy every move you make, to our final entry which involves 64 octanes with one common goal... You've never seen Rocket League AI like this.

Dude weve all played enough rocket league to consider ourselves good at rocket league until we realize we are all trash at rocket league. With a skill ceiling larger than arsenals ego we don't ever get the chance NOT to be trash at rl lol

Very recently I got into working with RLBot and I decided to try to make the bot feel more human. The initial results in how it responds to being demo'ed and gets saltier the more you demo him is absolutely hilarious. I added lots of random variation to the quick chats used, how many are used, and the time delay between them such that it feels almost eerie sometimes like I'm actually playing against a salty sally. He What a Save's and everything. It's hilarious 😂

Damn the typeracer one is something I didn't know I wanted. Although maybe I don't need to get annoyed from misspelling words *and* missing boosts. The rocket slayer one on the other hand looks freaking scary, wtf? How did plads even come up with it. Can't wait to give it a try once all phases are done though.

Honestly, typeracer can be disguised a way to keep your brain sharp, reassociate yourself with boost pads, and make for a pretty fun way to spend a rainy day. I want to try it out!

bro..imagine rocket slayer becomes a ltm and 4 people with rumble powerups try to defeat it, but if u shoot the ball at the net and score in rocket slayers net, depending on how powerful the shot was = how much hp he loses, for example u do a ground pinch against it and the speed was 110 kph, rocket slayer would lose 11% of his own hp, but he also gets more aggresive the lesser hp he has, also u can still demo him also that one instant demo powerup has like a 0.1% chance of appearing and only lasts like 5 seconds.

Hear me out on this: What if we compare the two mods for training use? What if we take a eight plats or diamonds or whatever, have two only use bakkesmod for a five day span, two use RL Gym for a five day span, another duo uses only vanilla RL and training packs for a five day span, and at the end we host a 1v1 showcase tournament where each player gets a game against one another. I'd be interested to see post-training thoughts from the testers as well, it could potentially publicize new training methods! Anyways, just my rambling. God bless and Godspeed, Sledge. 5 days is not enough to see significant improvement for plats or diamonds. Sunlesskhan did this with silvers, who probably just started, and it was for two weeks. It would have to be for like a month for plats and probably two for diamonds to see significant improvement.

Rocket league needs a story mode or something. Since its a competitive game like fighting games a mode where you play single player to complete complex tasks would be be really cool. Then ending with a boss battles.

The thumbnail is a visual representation of Rocket Slayer. Unfortunately a 64 bot creature is a meaningless blob in a thumbnail. This shows that I play against a giant bot and that indeed happens in the video. In fact I would argue that the giant bot in the video is more impressive than the thumb and thus shouldn't be a disappointment.

it's not pronounced like orthodontist, you say the "thog" not "ortho" in orthogonally. It does have the same latin root because ortho means strait. combined with the root for teeth, -dent, you get orthodontist: strait teeth. ortho-gon: straight angle

I would argue the monster bot that appears at the end of this the video is COOLER than the thumbnail and thus I over-delivered not click-baited. This video does include the world's largest bot it's just that I can't actually put the 64 octane bot in a thumbnail because it would be a meaningless blob. The thumbnail is a representation of Rocket Slayer and since what happens in the video is better than the thumb I dont consider it bait. If you are disappointed I'm sorry, but most weren't. @@NEPTHRUST Big Octane = visual representation of 64-octane bot (aka largest bot ever). You can call it click bait but if you want but most people will not consider it such. The "largest bot" appears in the video and is a lot more impressive than a single giant octane. If you can over-deliver on a thumbnail it is more appropriately called "legit bait". If you pay attention a lot of RL youtubers do this on videos that are hard to visually represent in a small picture. Many you probably don't even realize because the video delivers a better result than the picture promised. If that didn't happen for you I'm sorry, I guess I let you down. I would have loved to have the 64 bot Rocket Slayer in the thumb, but unfortunately that becomes a meaningless blob. Selling a video with a tiny picture is a tricky problem I face every week. If you look at my channel you will see that even "legit bait" is a rare occurrence it just was the best option for this particular topic.

@@NEPTHRUST no prob man. The KZfaq game can seem kinda scummy sometimes but if you don't play it then your video spent the last week working on gets no views. I wish titling/thumbnail practices didn't have to be like this, but it is what it is. I try to at least make content that usually delivers on the end.
