Nuln Ironsides got a cost reduction in the latest game update. That came out today. They are now 875 I believe.

It would be interesting to compare them when they are within range of each other to see the differences in damage output.

@@QualityGames-ql1jc another cool experiment could be putting them side by side and seeing how fast they kill the same unit. Also, you coule investigate how this changes depending on the target armor, large or infantry, missile block, etc

a lot of people seem to just take this at face value without properly taking both of the army units into consideration. Cathay is a way more defensive faction, very slow, so it makes sense that their snipers have shields and low mobility. Empire is more versatile, so their units need to be able to move at the cost of defenses. Don't just accept "oh Long Rifles loses to Crane Gunners, that means they're a worse unit" without thinking about the bigger picture.

Not suprised with the results actually. Crane gunners has shields, which means that even if the ironsides gets in range to fire back, crane gunners will have higher missile resist. Also, Ironsides aren't really 'snipers' they're more like more heavily armoured handgunners. So Their range will be much lower. Best comparison would be Long rifles vs Crane gunners. But they still lose to crane gunners due to the above mentioned shields.

Kind of surprised the Ironsides barely got a shot off before being routed. Crane Gunner vs the Hocland that seems about right, as Hocland aren't really meant for a duel of snipers.

Crane Gunner shoots like some anti-material rifle, I bet Iron Dragon was involved in its development.

The range distance was too much for the ironsides. Hochland Long Rifles increase cost (900) in the last parch and ironsides are cheaper now (875).

Can the same number of shooters beat one another... but... one side has a large pavise with extra man that gives stability and a frontal wall while also giving more shooters with a rifle that do more damage and have more range...

Longer range and silver shield be like that, ironsides? No chance. Hockland gunners? They get to shoot but it's still a loss. Maybe try a test where they start in range for both? So just a standing fire fight instead of testing one sides movement speed and the others deadliness
