Sorry very little can change if people are started on psychiatric drugs, their side effects as published in their pamphlets is depression, psychosis, detachment from reality, blood and neurological disorders adding up serious addiction and withdrawals, even worse ECT still going on in the western world country, why the governments block other solutions that are the same or better than psychiatric drugs, example Soteria house treatment by Dr Loren Moshe? The results were the same and better because there was no addiction or withdrawal. Why psychiatrist are using the same treatment that, does not cure and does not prevent, actually harms and is in many cases coersive, abusive and tortuous. I am a public health researcher, I have seen, read and follow up, I do not understand how psychiatrist are delusional!

My med shrink is on board today !! He's willing to do more research and go down the rabbit hole with me !! He definitely wants a nutritionist to either consult with or (cross fingers) get on onboard. Its still waaay, to soon to get super excited for others yet, but I'm already 6mos into the journey. I pray "I'm walking the ketogenic walk" correctly to show him, its gonna work for SOME of us. ♡♡

There is another interesting angle. Mental illness and neurocognitive problems have become so common that they've been nearly normalized. Many people don't even realize they have any issue until it goes away. I remember someone talking about that when they turned to a low-carb diet and their depression alleviated, except they hadn't previously realized they were depressed. There are plenty of functional depressives who otherwise appear normal.

Thank you. Finding what helps mental issues is invaluable. I switched from the SAD diet to keto/low carb woe due to a "mental issue" of a panic attack. I had a divorce and dying parent, at the same time, and had a panic attack triggered by me just telling myself to write a list of what I needed to do. It was incredibly scary and surprising how my thought caused a physical reaction. I know what I experienced is mild, compared to things like schizophrenia, but I attest to the power of letting nutrition be our medicine. I only had that one panic attack, because I took action to looking for nutritional help, first. It's awesome you're providing this channel to help others.

Yes, is important to try to find help in nutrition and natural treatments, stay away from main psychiatry please.. Environmental factors as hypersensitive to EM are an ignored element on mental and physical illnesses and possible had a lot to do with chronic illnesses, my opinion on psychiatry is based in research and witness how much abuse and disinformation is going on by psychiatry and other medical professionals to patients and families, and if you speak too much you have to run for your life...in that case the only option is continue making it public and put your life in G_d's hands.. My blood boils when I read so much ignorance in the public and hear doctors supporting psychiatric treatment 🙂.

I love this channel and what this organization is doing is amazing. I’m looking for a research on ketogenic diet on ADHD but there is no research done on humans (only a small study on rodents), would be great if this can be funded and done.

Love ya, Dr. Bret and Dr. Chris. It would be interesting to know if the inhibition of mitophagy is a contributing factor for mitochondrial dysfunction and, thus, metabolically-based mental illness. Any thoughts?

Ever since I began consuming a vegan ketogenic diet 6 months ago, I have felt amazing. Some of my bipolar one and perimenopause symptoms disappeared. I lost 47 pounds. Something equally as amazing as my vegan keto lifestyle happened 5 years ago when I decided to become a vegan overnight after watching the film “What The Health.” I was 47 years old and it was one of the best decisions of my life. I firmly believe we each have a choice and I don’t tell others what to do. But I think there’s something to be said about eating an animal that has been killed because of the cortisol spike the animal must have suffered. There are studies currently underway about this very issue. Think about it. You’re basically eating anxiety. My anxiety has improved so much since I stopped eating meat, and so many people who have bipolar disorder also suffer from anxiety. Taking a break from consuming animal products is worth exploring.

That is heartbreaking for those who could benefit from this therapy. We, along with others in this field, are trying to help clinicians train in ketogenic therapy. We also like to point out the benefit of a multi-disciplinary team. If a psychiatrist isn't aware of ketogenic therapy, an experienced coach, dietician, or therapist could take the lead and help communicate with the psychiatrist to keep everyone on the same page and ensuring safety and efficacy. There's a growing list of trained clinicians at www.diagnosisdiet.com/directory

@@Man-u-flex Your opinion is irrelevant. Human is hyper carnivore. Plants are not needed at all. You can choose to include some, maybe help with appetite, but do you no good in your body.
