"Trails should be enjoyed by everyone" As a longtime and frequent trail rider in the Boulder, Colorado area, there are a lot of legal obstacles to riding my XR on trails. A local busybody on a mountain bike trail called the police on me and my teenage son. I ended up getting a court summons. "Motorized vehicles" meant something completely different in the 80's when the bans on them were put into place in the 80's nationwide. To add insult to injury, the "trail" I was on was actually an old fire road, and the ranger who issued me the summons (and then forced me and my son to carry our boards the 3 miles back to the trailhead) was driving a Ford F-150 up the trail to issue me the summons. He wouldn't even let us put our boards in the truck so we wouldn't have to carry them. The wealthy older couple who called the police on us seemed to have an incoherent view that "chains/sprockets good, motors bad" despite the mountain bikes going 40+ mph whizzing past us. It should be noted that (by pure coincidence) there was another couple riding onewheels on the same trail who also had to go to court the same day I did. I would love to know if there is any plan on Future Motion helping to organize some activism to get these archaic bans adjusted to not treat my 25 pound board with a top speed of 18mph like it's a 400 pound gas powered dirt bike. At this point, there isn't a single trail in Boulder area that permits me to ride my board legally. There are a small number of trails that allow certain kinds of e-bikes, but onewheels are not explicitly allowed, and are therefore banned and lumped into the "motorized vehicle" category.

@@leeboss6631 yeah. That changed the day after I wrote that. We won't get them in March either. FM doesn't have a clue how to do the "under promise, over deliver" customer service tactic. Their policy is guestimate, disappoint, poorly communicate and disappoint again. Haha.

To be fair, didn’t seem to be an issue in this video.

If the board was thinner it couldn’t fit the massive batteries. Plus did you even see the log he climbed??? That should instantly tell you. Clearance is zero issue

Might have because it was a lack of traction that was giving him problems. Still impressed to see how the slick performed.

On technical trail riding like this. It is actually really nice to be able to pivot the board on its tire to change direction on a dime to navigate the trail.

He prefers slicks over treaded bc slicks are faster
