My biggest gripe is the fact that no matter the settings or if I'm using speakers or headphones, footsteps are 100% SILENT at all ranges (except for my own, and that of teammates). That, and the apparent fact that everyone playing tactical slayer has the ability to cross-map headshot me in one burst as soon as I'm within their line of sight.

Going to give this I try. I can hear footsteps but only once people are right on top of me. In oddball if you are carrying in a good area alone and want to know if someone is pushing you so that you need to drop the ball to engage them, hearing the footsteps seems vital

Found a fix if you have native Dolby atmos just go into audio settings and there is a tab to turn off sound enhancements through windows

After the Season 3 update it's even worse for me. I'm not hearing any enemy footsteps and supposedly they were altered to BE louder closer in. I left it in compressed from season 2, but like I said... it's even worse. Can we alter the footsteps audio file?? Will that crash the game? I tried using an EQ but honestly I think it's a server issue. IF the server I'm on is already slow (ping, Network packet loss, Kills show up 3 seconds after in the kill feed) I bet there's a delay in ANY information... so really there's no cue to send the footstep audio until it's too late. This is getting frustrating. I've noticed shot indicators are lagging behind too... pretty much instant death if I can't react to what going on. Hard to love this game.

The problem is I'm not sure this even is a bugh I'm starting to think this is intended this is the way they wanted it that's what makes it so frustrating because you don't know if it's a problem that can even be solved

CANT HEAR SHOTS BEHIEND ME

Im here cause i've been gaming with my sony mdr 7506's, and I can hear players running.. But it makes no sense for a half ton metal suit to sound like the ghost that chills down my hallway.

My issue is I have a hard time Hearing in game things when teammates call out or talk and it’s driving me crazy 😪 it used to all be so simple in previous halos didn’t always have to alter some setting

Dude it's sop bad to point I can barely hear gunshots, if they aren't directly next to me I can't hear them at all and it sucks
