I was listening to you playing the chords with my eyes closed and all of a sudden I was able to differentiate between the sounds of each chord. I knew when you played the dominant chord because it sounds like it needed to resolve. And when you played that 13#11 chord I could hear how much better and cleaner it was than the regular 11th. Thanks for this awesome lesson. You’re A blessing man.

Very detailed and great explanation. The only feedback I have is when you played the B major chord, Your screen showed a B Eb Gb. We have to be careful when we’re representing a chord that we use the appropriate sharps and flats. And a B major chord it would be B. D#. F#. Though they represent enharmonic notes, it can be confusing, because it appears that we go from the note B then to E and lower the E a half step. Instead we’re raising D half step.

After watching further, I believe you may have software that is interpreting the note played because when you did the Caug You clearly said to # the 5th But the screen showed a flat 6th.

I came here with question again. I am trying to learn all of major scales from your tutorial (which is very helpfull), and i have to ask what is the next step? i mean should i start playing all minor scales or maybe arpeggios after i master all major scales? What is the next step? Thank you for new video. You are realy changing the world with your lessons in a good way. I subscribed.
@PianoLessonwithWarren

Angeliko studios thank you for watching. Okay so first thing,, don't think of scales as a destination where when you reach you say "what next?" Think of scales as exercises to keep your dexterity, speed, and accuracy in check, so they'll become apart of your life long practicing. Yes you need to know also twelve major scales and all 3 forms of minor scales in all keys.... after that, your blues scales and pentatonic scales. Definitely also work on your arpeggios.. I'll be doing a tutorial on "technique building and how to practice" soon, so look out for that.

A chord is build using the 1st, 3rd, and 5th degrees of a scale. For any more added notes we continue in the same numerical order ie; 7th, 9th, 11th etc… because chords are built in Intervals of thirds. The Intervalic distance from C to D is a 9th (when following the stacked third theory rule).

@southpark4151
@southpark4151 2 жыл бұрын
It probably communicates exactly which note is added - just to avoid ambiguity ---- such as - if 'D' is the 2nd note in the C major scale, and we see another D later --- the ninth note if we expand the scale above an octave ------ then the frequency of the note we are going to add (relative to the base chord we're adding it to) makes a difference in the sound. So having symbolism to convey exactly which note needs to be added is handy.
