In my earlier videos on the SMEG EGF03, I mentioned that this model can perform extraction of espresso and steaming milk at the same time.
The actual fact is, it can't.
As shown in today's video, while extracting espresso, the steam function cannot be activated.
However, the fact that it has two thermal blocks is correct. The EGF03 only comes with one vibratory pump and hence can only perform one of the two function at a time.
The good news is, as it has two thermal blocks, this means that immediately after you are done with espresso extraction, you can steam the milk Immediately and vice versa. There is no need to wait for the thermal block to heat up or cool down.
Hence, even though it can't perform 2 functions at the same time, for home barista, most of us will only do one of the stated function at one time. and if you need to make multiple milk based drinks back to back, you can do it without having to wait.
