My understanding is that Abronia turn blue in captivity when not exposed to enough natural sunlight. Despite living in cloud forests, in the wild these lizards get intense UV throughout the year due to high elevations in the mountains. Could be partially diet related as well. I would think gut-loading insects with fresh vegetables and fruits helps in maintaining vibrant coloration. As you mentioned in the video, you can only keep Abronia outdoors for a brief time in the "winter" of South Florida. I would think the ideal place to keep these in the US would be in coastal areas of Southern California. It rarely gets hot in summer, and in winter days are warm and nights somewhat cold but never freezing. You could keep them outdoors nearly year-round and naturally mimic the winter cooling period of their native habitat.

I feel abronia lizards are only expensive with upfront costs of them and equipment and are cheaper in the long run. Someone feel free to correct me with that understanding since I like to learn

My crested has suddenly developed a situation where his front right toes look stuck together. It’s almost like his front foot can’t grip at all cause the toes are stuck back. This is the first time he’s ever looked like this. Is it stuck shed that is causing it? Does it just need more humidity? This is one I bought from you in Orlando in early December. Thanks.

It's not inside or outside really, it's the temperature drop. I've had min 6 years breed every year but it's when they've been kept at whatever temperature and it drops 10 to 15 degrees for 5 plus days str8.

The blue comes from a carotenoid deficiency. Gutload with Rapashy super pig and or them outside if your area temperatures allow

loss of color is probably due to low levels of carotenoids in their food. Kusko put up a video talking about this recently on his Triple B channel. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m9F4etOmmbO7d6c.html
