i actually started crying. i’ve always wanted to cosplay, but i’ve never had the confidence. when you started dancing, and they announced you as the winner, that was emotional

OH MY GOD when she was standing in the dark, about to be announced as the winner, her face filled with pain/anticipation and she was about to cry I was SO HYPED. I was never a competitive gal and competitions always make me SO anxious and stressed, my work is always shit. But that didn't stop me from relating to this and feeling your joy, your astonishment, that disbelief. You go, girl!

I watch this video a lot for background comfort noise and I know this is a year old and this comment will probably get buried but I wanna just take a sec to appreciate how fantastic this video is at capturing *why* I love cosplay competitions so much. I sometimes get weird looks when telling folks outside of the community that I enjoy competing in contests but don't really care about winning because it helps me meet cool friends? I know this is a vlog and stuff just happens but from a storytelling perspective it's so brilliant how we see and celebrate the other competitors in the entire leadup, asking the avatar cosplayers if you're in the right place, excitement over the pig prop, ect. Even if none of the viewers know these people it sets up this fantastic comaradery between everyone so we are just as excited when they win as we are when you do? idk this is a really good video and I think it takes a lot of talent to translate the good contest experience into a 24 minute story. thanks for making it!
