First of all, thank you for all of your incredible videos. I really mean that. BUT............ the one thing I wanted to REALLY know you touched on at the end but never fleshed it out. What happens, say, if you open a 16 ounce bottle of water, take a swig and then close it? What would be the shelf life in that scenario? Also, I guess you would have to take in consideration if the bottle was left out afterwards or put immediately into the refrigerator? Thank you!

Water's been here since the earth was made, so I'm pretty sure it won't go bad. We just clean it over and over again. Kind of weird knowing your water has been through ... everything.

I know this is a very old video, but what happens if you say, refill a plastic 5L water bottle with filtered water, and then store that for 2-3years or so? Is the plastic contents more harmful? Would it be better to use metal containers?

Not once did he recommend water should be stored in glass or any other non plastic container. There are still ignorant people out there that need that information for optimum health including him.

My sister got food poisoning (can you call it that when you are talking about a liquid?) when she drank some water from a previously used bottle that had been standing in her room over the Christmas holidays. Because it was a previously used bottle it had bacteria in it, and the bacteria had multiplied and thrived in the water inside the bottle, making her sick when she drank it.

Aseptic water kept properly will stay aseptic… Septic water might become more OR less septic in any conditions… Drain water is either sceptic or toxic…

onion holders exist by the way. in the south most kitchens come equipped with what appears to be a small wooden two drawer dresser, one drawer is larger and holds potatoes, the other is larger and holds onions. The drawers are usually woodburned with labels for each.

Very true, though it would be great to go a bit more into detail. Water doesn't go bad because whenever you think of things "going bad" you generally picture an apple or some leftovers getting moldy and gross. When organic material like that "goes bad" it's because it's being consumed by bacteria, yeast, and other teeny tiny things, which are actually breaking it down bit-by-bit and changing it on a microscopic level-- like yeast chewing up all the tiny sugars that make up the structure of that organic material. Water on the other hand, H2O, doesn't get consumed by microbes in this way. It's not comprised of organic matter, it's just a Hydrogen and 2 Oxygen atoms. It only SEEMS to "go bad" from our macroscopic perspective because what we see is a change in the entirety of the stuff in our container; observable changes like those that are happening thanks to dust flecks and hairs getting stuck to the surface, and the algae, mosquito larvae, etc. mentioned in this video. However, the actual individual microscopic bits of H2O doesn't get consumed and changed by bacteria, yeast, etc. as we see with organic compounds like sugars, proteins, starches, etc. which is how it differs. It helps to examine and understand what's going on when something "goes bad" in accordance with common parlance. ;) I was kinda hoping you guys would have explained it from this perspective, but great video nonetheless! I really hope you revisit this some day and give a more granular supplemental recap. :D

all my bottled water (in plastic) looks like it was crushed in some kind of pressure chamber...what's up with that? (all are unopened). i don't want to throw them away because...water doesn't go bad..but..it definitely seems unappealing so i keep it around "in case of emergencies" (not sure what.. like a tiny fire but there's no water pressure at the time?)

What if you keep water in a proper tumbler and left it in the car, with weather in asia, after couple of days there's bound to be some vapourization in the bottle itself, and we can observe droplets on the side of the bottle. Is this still good to drink?

I pour tap water into a bottle. Drink it and it's nice and fresh. Also cold. Seal the cap on and leave it next to the bed for about a week. Apart from being room temperature warm it has a weird flat taste. Like it's gone stagnant or lost all it's air or something

I’ve had a case of bottled water in the trunk of my car for a few years. It’s seen -25 degree weather, it’s seen 100 degree weather. Obviously frozen and thawed numerous times. I assume it’s not safe to drink.

At my place of work, they provide free bottled water. Every bottle has an expiration date on it, we believed it was because the plastic leaking into the water over time. Sometimes some of the water bottles sit around for many years and it's best to not drink them at all. Yuck!

2 problems. 1 I think they should mention that if water is left in a plastic bottle in a hot car in the summer it tastes super strongly of leeching plastic, and say how and why that happens. and 2 he says and figure out how to get the plastic out of your body later... I've never ever heard of anyone telling people how to get rid of plastic in one's body out of said body. Or if that's even possible, b/c certain toxins NEVER leave the body.

Okay well that is good to know. I did have a question : How long a standing water stays good in one of those one cup coffee makes ? Hubby got one of those and it has the water tank on the side and the water just sits there not hot nor cold...for who knows how long. He just keeps adding new water from the faucet. I don't want to drink it because all I can think is slimy water. Can that water go bad ? or am I just being weird & crazy. Also I moved it to another spot in the kitchen and now it ends up getting afternoon sunlight right on the tank...that can't be good ? Any information on my problem would be really helpful !
