Robin Ellis is Ross Poldark. Angharad Rees was the most enchanting Demelza, may she rest in peace. Clive Francis, played the role of Francis Poldark. Judd and Prudie Paynter were played by such brilliant actors. I loved their ability to bring humour to the serial. .

I am so glad someone else thinks this, the other books are SO SO good, Jeremy, what he does, Clowance, and her story, the twisted character that Valentine becomes, and Bella, who hasn't appeared yet...so many stories, such potential, I hope it's not wasted as the rest of the books are gold

Personally I don't think it has anything to do with masculinity, there have been many brave women who have put their lives on the line to save others as well.

@@Haunted_Dreamer True. However, I am speaking in terms of men being men period. The masculine man is an endangered species. Women don't have this problem because they are not men. As a matter of fact, the reason women have to step up so much now is because men won't. Men don't even want to make the first move in the mating ritual anymore.

@@tracyjacksonjackson4221 I respect your point of view. But I think that kind of masculinity is both good and bad, it can lead to men not wanting to appear vulnerable so they don't share their feelings and then it leads to men not being happy. And that can lead to toxcicty and abuse. Plus I think it's only right that women are stepping up more, it shouldn't always be on the men. It was only like that because that's what society thought was right because they viewed women as less. Women still aren't treated as well but it's getting better as time goes on, they've gotten more individualism and that comes with having to step up more. Also using the term, mating ritual, is a bit odd. Not everyone is interested in "Mating" and it's not what defines a relationship for all people. Men are people too, they should have the choice if they want to go after a relationship or not. I mean this show is of an era where people were always expected to marry so they did go after people because of that. Now it's more accepted that you don't have to get married so it's not as big of a thing and men don't feel pressured to have to find someone. But to end with, that's just my personal opinion and I'm not trying to say I'm right and you're wrong. It's just how I feel about it.
