I love it. This is the car featured in the movie "Mean Streets". Same color combo. I had 4 Imperial 4 doors-1972-1973. Just bought 1973 Imperial 2 door hardtop out of Montana and I'm going to save another '73 2 door at an undisclosed location. They only 2,563 of them-I looked for 27 years and 2 2 doors just fell into my lap. If you ever sold this one-I'd love to have it. I also resurrect and bring old cars back to life.

Love those Chrysler Behemoths too !! I've owned many land barges., The largest engine I drove as a daily driver was a 1970 472ci Cadillac Coupe. 10 miles per gallon was about average. lol. But I would still drive it today! You''ve got one of the largest cars Detroit ever built. Love the 72 lines, its a masterpiece in the long line of American luxury cars. Tip for bringing the front & rear chrome bumpers and side view mirrors. SOS Pads. Use them & it will remove the haze from the chrome and light surface rust and giving them a nice new chrome shine like new. It won't scratch it so don't worry. You will be very happy to see how great they come out

Yes it definitely could use a set of exhaust pipes and some resonators to make it real quiet you don't want allowed luxury car just don't work just get dual exhaust you'll have the power and if you get them to do exhaust with the nice mufflers and resonator it'll be quiet but it'll have the performance you want!

Great looking car - great video. For leather seat care - look for a shoe buffing brush - soft enough not to damage the leather (and the finish on the leather), but firm enough to get the dirt out. Once the paint gets cut and buffed, this Imperial is going to look like a million bucks. I have a soft spot for these Big Mopars - my first car was a 1970 Chrysler 300 2-door hardtop (440 V8, TorqueFlite, Buckets and console) and drove the hell out of it. Never looked as good as your LeBaron, though. Thanks for sharing.

Today you get 4 people into a big SUV and people say, Boy, this is roomy! Bull crap! Have those same 4 people crawl into that 72 Imperial where you have to lean over and stretch to touch the person beside you. You can put 6 people in that car and there will be 8" between their shoulders. Imperial above all other cars of that time was all about roomy personal space and comfort.

@@rustyrevivals1623 I have a 65 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham. My car could have come with rear fold-down seats to seat 8 people, backseat leg room like no other. Nowhere near the overall room that your car provides. That is what Imperial was all about. My car is impressive as it passes by, she will not fit in a 20-foot-long garage. Imperial didn't care about impressing people on the street. Everything was about the impression of the people in the car.

You have a very nice Imperial; you should be proud of saving this beauty! That relay/buzzer sound during your night time drive may be the headlight door relay located under the dash. Do you only hear that sound with the headlights on? Rotate the headlight door motor adjustment wheel just a little (under the hood) with the lights on until the relay stops protesting.

I've restored one of these, and I experienced weak brakes as well, even after installing new calipers. It turned out that the Midland Ross dual-diaphram brake booster was shot (it wasn't the check valve). A rebuild by Power Brake Exchange in Washington fixed the problem...stops on a dime!

Amarol has oil in it and when the sun hits it. It's going to dry out the leather seats and fade the color off destroying the seats along with the dash board. You will actually see a lite haze from the sun heating up the oil in the armarol & dry roating & cracking the dash board. Believe it or not Pledge yellow can is good for cleaning the dashboard nicely and giving it a nice clean new look

Definitely get the exhaust in order. "Limo's" (that is what we call Imperials) should be Quiet and unassuming. All Limo's with Rear A/C had "Sure Grip" rear ends BTW. Another note, someone commented about the front suspension, they are different on Imperials than standard Mopar's, that being said, DON'T EVER take the Transmission Crossmember out without supporting the front Suspension. Learned that the hard way once! Lucky I still have both hands after that lesson. Good job.

But you should try on your leather a little soft brush that will scrub all that dirt out of there then get you some stuff called mink oil and that will make that leather so soft and nice it's a beautiful car man you get it a good waxed up you got good tires I don't know who bought those but those are the big nice hankook with the white walls and the heavy duty load range what you need for that big heavy car that's great too! Should run premium in it too I don't know if you know 91 or 92 octane at least cuz when this car was new regular was 91.92 so if you try to run 87 it won't run good that's too cheap of gas for that old girl you can even put some octane boost in it too and blow out with that that'll really get her going LOL

Definitely don't use Armarol on the tires. They will dry rot so quickly from the heat from driving the car the oil in the armarol will baking those tires and eventually u will notice them dry rotted & discolored & you will have to replace them. That stuff is awful for cars and always tell friends not to buy it

Okay! I always use Meguiars for the wheels! I’ve had the best luck with that stuff over the years and after I use it, it always seems to shine stuff up nice!

Interesting project and you said in pt 1 that you were working on the videos to make them less choppy or fragmented. Let me offer another suggestion. Reduce the talking head closeups by 3/4 and show some actual work being done. Otherwise, all you have is a "dear diary" style account of what you did with the odd test drive from inside the car. That's just not enjoyable to watch.
