Guessing Northeast Indians would be a difficult one. Some Northeast Indians looks South East Asain while some looks like East Asain.

You will be traumatize when you see people from northeast india. We have people who looks southeast asian as well as as east Asian. You guys should call a northeast indian in your channel if possible.

As a mixed American guy, when I was a kid I couldn't tell east Asian people's nationality at all, but now that I'm old and have travelled a lot certain facial 'looks' are clearly Korean, Japanese or Chinese exclusively. Even if they didn't speak I would have guessed Heejae is Korean, and Kotaha is Japanese. Not everyone from these countries is obvious to me but some faces just look super one country only. A good example is the kpop group Twice; Momo looks 100% totally Japanese, while Dahyun looks absolutely Korean even if I didn't already know.

As a Filipino, we have this saying where if the eyes are slanted upward, the person is Chinese, but if the eyes are slanted downward, the person is Japanese.

Thanks to my interest in East Asian dramas I can easily recognise people based on their physical appearance , the eye shapes easily tell it even the nose structure & then there are obvious signs as their accent , the way they dress & put makeup. Love to that German dude from India ,he cute.

Damn I felt this guy! Me being from India can recognize anyone fellow indian but recognizing east & south east Asians just by face would be hard af for me

I was confused at first because I thought he had already done a video with Heejae and so he was only going to describe hypothetically how he would determine or guess the person's nationality. Here, it appeared as though he did not know Heejae's ethnic background. On the point of India, he could probably get away with assuming someone is from there based on the statistical odds. However, there are other nationalities that could make the guess harder if someone is not familiar enough with differences between cultural tendencies. Someone could be from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, or even Sri Lanka while he may have guessed India for a person.

Being an indian, I have huge interest in eastern Asia. I guessed both of them just by their appearance.

As someone who went to an international school, even if it has been a decade, I could tell immediately from the way each dressed

I grew up in Singapore, my wife is Vietnamese . . . and I still can't generally tell the difference except by style of dress or accent (those can be dead giveaways). I mean, there is a general look for Vietnamese, Koreans, Japanese, etc but you can't rely on that. Cambodians, Malays, Indonesians and so forth are pretty easy to pick out but that's different.

How I could have told you that Kotoha was Japanese... 1.Her mannerisms (look at how she sits) 2. Her English pronunciation 3. From my own observations, most Japanese women have rounder faces with plumper cheeks that sit higher on their faces (directly under the eye to the mouth as opposed to from the cheekbones to the jaw in Korean women) or very sharp faces with very little cheek fat and squarer jawlines. 4. Her eyes. Once again from my own observations, Japanese women tend to have either moon shaped or dragon eyes that extend towards the side of the face so when you look at them head on, there is very little temple space seen. It’s just something I’ve noticed over the last few years to help me distinguish East Asians.

I've seen a lot of Japanese wigs coloured with a pink/black split like Kotoha's, and the hime-bangs are a very Japanese thing as well! I wouldn't have been able to guess Heejae though. But I already saw the both of them in other videos.

I actually guessed that left one (Kotoha) is Japanese and right one (Jeehae) is Korean. Their facial features are pretty obvious somehow. Tho I did think that there’s a slight feature of Kotoha that reminds me of Chinese too

Sometimes, telling Chinese (from certain regions) and Japanese people apart can be challenging. I can usually recognize people from Korea, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, but there are nations where people have a common ancestry. The cross-race effect is definitely real though.

He told me he was more Indian than me. I apologized and he said he was from north east. I had never seen a north eastern person in my life.
