Peatlands are among the most carbon-rich wetland ecosystems on earth. When damaged or degraded, they release all that carbon back out into the environment. And in a warming planet, that's the last thing we need.
At the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park in Wales, they've been using imported coconut husk to create portable "dams" across erosion-prone areas to slow runoff and keep soil in place.
But coconuts aren't native to Wales, are they. I wonder what IS?
