RULES
1. Only Steiner may fight enemies, and he may not do so until all other characters are dead.
2. Until everyone except Steiner is dead, the only action all characters can take is to knock themselves out. Steiner may attack other characters.
3. Chocobo hot and cold may only be used to gain items that are already available through other means
4. No hacks or glitches.
5. If Steiner dies, the game must be reset.

One of my favorite elements of FFIX is the relationship between Steiner and Vivi. They become good friends, with Steiner like an older brother or guardian, and the game reflects this with game mechanics in the form of the team up elemental sword skills. I always love when game mechanics reflect the narrative.

Love the "Who?" title for fighting Necron. He's always confused me. I get that he's the arbiter of the world or some shit, but his actual battle could have been a Super Trance Kuja battle, where he absorbs the power of Trance from the other 4 members you're not using.

About that even at say lv 30 with 1 HP left Minus strike does ENOUGH damage to force the book boss to open up with 1 hit yet even at lv 30 with a full party I tended to have Steiner take HIS turn AFTER the boss takes its turn and at 1 HP left Paper Storm will kill Steiner if he does NOT go first. Just be Glad GC didn't Berserk MINI and Zombie Steiner all at once that's the ONLY way to LOSE against Necron on a SOLO run EVEN AT LV 99.

With the Blood sword, I think you can use Minus Strike to heal off the damage Beatrix does with Shock and deal it back to her. Of course, that would entail surviving Shock in the first place, but theoretically, she generally swings hard enough to take herself out a few turns early. She's only got like 5300 HP or so...

I solo'd this with everyone and Tiamat is, and will always be, a pain in the ass. Also, I never knew there's a save point right after, because it's so hidden. BTW, is there no way to get a Reflect Ring in Disc 4? It makes Lich much easier. Also, with proper timing, you can revive yourself when under Doom status. Throw a Phoenix Down at yourself once you're close to zero. Oh and at least you went back for Excalibur 2.
