I think the first right press is actually passable; If you spawn the Waddle Doo Helper, and after being spawned he slightly moves left, could it not push Kirby over slightly to the right? From there the helper can push Kirby off the ledge, and getting hit by the Cappy should face Kirby to the right, allowing slides & after entering the break room, getting the Cutter ability (which might allow passing the gap to get to the Warp Star with the Aerial Down Attack?)

Great video, and I’m glad you appreciate Parasol so much too! A few years ago I did a challenge to complete Kirby Star Allies Guest Star mode without pressing BOTH Left and Right. Surprisingly it is possible, and there were a select handful of sections which gave me trouble once I figured out parasol was the only ability I could use for speedy enough underwater movement (since allies can slightly push Kirby). I completed all of them nearly 2 years ago, though I never got around to making a full youtube video so I just have twitter clips 😅but it was very fun, I figured everyone always picks a single direction but it would be cool if possible while removing both left and right, and I’m proud that it was! I have yet to watch your video on Return to Dreamland as I am still going through that game with this challenge in mind, I am curious how our strategies will line up 🤔

So, that Circle Pad thing… that’s JUST cheating. If the 3DS receives input from the D-Pad while the Circle Pad is being used (or vice versa), it chooses to ignore the old input entirely. As far as the game is concerned, you went from holding right, to holding left, then back to holding right. This is no different than doing an A button challenge, holding down an A turbo button, and saying you did it in 1 A press.
