Can You Beat Metro Last Light With Only A Revolver? (in text form)
Metro Last Light picks up one sequel development period after Metro 2033. Artyom got his 25 kill streak, launched nukes at the enemy team, got betrayed by Shepherd again, it was a great time to be anyone but me. The general plot of this movie is to track down the last Dark One who survived atomic blast that might’ve just been regular missiles, I don’t actually remember. As expected, I chose to play on baby spartan mode instead of a mode that would require me to have any gaming prowess at all, and the game begins by failing the challenge. You’re in a tunnel with an assault rifle and no revolver. But it’s okay because that didn’t actually happen, it was all a dream.
After waking up, I spelled out Bazinga in morse code, got my equipment from proctologist Teagan, fitted myself with two variations of the same revolver- one silenced with a red dot sight and another with a long barrel for better range, and followed Khan to the meeting with Colonel Miller. Khan did what Khan does, piss everyone off and make me go it alone. Except this time I’m not alone, the stereotype sniper who doesn’t like you despite the fact that you almost single handedly wiped out the dark ones is along to make an already miserable existence even worse. On the surface, she instructed me to head to where the Dark One supposedly was. I failed at capturing the little boy, maybe I would’ve succeeded if I stuck a bullet in his kneecap. Instead, he played a movie in my head and caused me to get captured by the Germans.
Pavel, a different Pavel from the one in Metro 2033, helped me not get executed, gave me a knife, and we dove head first into sewage. This clever section gets you accustomed to not being detected by immediately gassing you to death if you’re detected. I didn’t get detected, I was just to stupid to figure out what I was supposed to do the first time around. That’s a common theme in my life. After a brief stint as an air duct rat, I continued my vertical journey towards freedom by choosing not to set the prisoners free. I got a revolver though, I considered a single gun with a few bullets to be worth more than the dozens of lives I left behind to end in agony.

This one isnt that impressive really. I'm playing this game rn, and even on the hardest difficulty, this really wouldn't be that hard, even considering ammo reserves. The revolver is OP in this game, and the fact that hes allowing attachments certainly doesnt make it any harder. Edit: after watching more of this, I feel like hes having a much harder time with this than he should be. Especially given the difficulty he chose, this really is a walk in the park. He should've done it on the intended difficulty, or did pure stealth or an iron man run along with the revolver only thing.. but yeah he does put out videos pretty frequently, mad props for that and his monotone humour!

Well Artyom does have to deliver a message to Polis (i.e. about the little dark one still being alive and that he's gonna locate him), and he ALSO has a revenge quest (kinda like Courier 6)! "🎵And the Ranger there among them had a Big Iron on his hip🎵" lmao 😂👌

An older KZfaqr isnt always the best, and the "best" may not be the best for someone else. It depends on the "fans", and for me, as an example: I like to smoke some sh#t and watch (preferably) Senza, but I like Dante and Mitten too :D

The revolver is actually low key one of the best weapons. Put a stock, long barrel, laser, and scope on it, and you have a head shot machine.

As a metro addict, the revolver is actually one of the best weapons in the game. It is some of the most damage per shot in the game, and had a pretty respectable fire rate.

It is better for stealth, but if your a crack shot it can 1 shot humans, watchman, and nosalises if you hit them in the head. My two weapons I choose for ranger hardcore survival is a revolver shambler.

In my experience the Revolver is certainly good, but I find it to be somewhat limited. It has high damage and a good fire rate for sure, but it's damage isn't high enough to kill enemies in one hit like shotguns can, while faster firing weapons like the AK-74 are just as capable at killing most enemies with headshots, but with much higher fire rates and much more forgiving ammunition capacities. It's a great jack of all trades weapon, but other weapons do certain jobs better, which doesn't really leave any purpose for the revolver.

Last light has one of my favorite defense missions of all time because it’s a proper military defense pulling back to multiple layers of defense and holding and only using the nuclear option at the end

That jet idea is actually pretty interesting, but only with one addition. Since Jet makes the game extremely easy, I would suggest there be a time limit, such as "can you beat Fallout 4 in X amount of time while constantly being under the effect of jet", since that would pretty difficult depending on the time limit.

My first playthrough was 95% revolver and 5% shotgun. I started keeping the Revolver through the whole game in 2033 and decided to continue the tradition in Last Light.

It's definitely in the DLCs but I don't remember if it was implemented into the main game in the same was it was in 2033 Redux.

Black flag I don’t think so, there is multiple missions that need you to be on your ship. What other assassins creed are you thinking of? Cause fists only would be fairly easy if you play the newer games and can dodge.

Also Borderlands, Undertale (it's a post-apocalypse for the monsters), Toe-Jam and Earl (Earth in that game is floating space islands, you can't convince me that some apocalypse didn't happen in that game), any CRPG based off of D&D's "Darksun" setting, and the upcoming "Happiness is Mandatory" game based off of Paranoia.

Chernobyl is still an apocalyptic landscape though. Sure, the outside world remains indifferent, but there’s never any focus on that. It all takes place in a wasteland, so therefore the game is apocalyptic.

Its actually not that hard. You just have to outweigh the evil with good deeds like donating to the poor, helping around stations, not killing the human bosses, etc. I will admit the sneaking can be difficult at times but not impossible.

@@KlaireMurre Is roadside picnic also a game? I only know it as the book by strugatsky, that the film is based on, that the game is based on. Your point is valid. Not the whole world is destroyed in an apocalypse in the lore. But the gameplay and the feeling are still postapocalyptic. Imagine if the lore of metro is, that only russia is destroyed and the rest of the world is fine and quarantined russia. Nothing in the game would change, but from your point of view it wouldn't be postapocalyptic now?

This series was a blast. Went through on ranger hardcore and each inch of the game was a challenge. Almost every single boss fight i had nothing but 4 rounds, 1 claymore and my knife. With a filter that has 40 seconds left on it. Might play through a second time honestly

metro 2033, metro 2034, and metro 2035 are hands down my favorite book series. The fact that there is a game is just icing on the cake. A lot less mutants, and a lot more politics and psychological thriller in the book, also the books are a helluva lot sadder.

Technically the revolving shotgun (Looked it up and it’s called the shambler) COULD be considered a revolver carbine. It depends on your outlook though.

Should do a single shot shotgun in Metro exodus. long ass reload, no range, good damage at close range though, but it’s easy to get overwhelmed

Not quite. You don’t get the good ending from only sparing everyone. You also have to complete specific tasks throughout the game. Like donating to the poor and rescuing innocents from bandits.

I think it should be a unspoken rule (that I'm speaking right now) that challenges start _after_ the tutorial. So many of these videos are 'technically' failed because the tutorial forces you to do something. The thing is, tutorials are meant to introduce the mechanics prior to letting you use them freely, so they are inherently likely to force you to do something that might not be necessary for the entire rest of the game, they also tend to force you into using specific equipment or skills. I just personally think it's bad for the idea of challenge runs in general to include that stuff, obviously in Mitten's case we still get a fun video out of it, but generally speaking it basically just limits the amount of feasible challenges, because many will just not be possible from the get-go. I think most of us watch these videos to see the actual game played with certain restrictions, not to have a binary "is it possible" scenario that's determined before the game even begins.

I've beat it similarly. Pistols only. As soon as I get the lolife I use it but I really only use it when forced to and otherwise kill nobody but knockout with stealth or just run by everyone if possible. This and 2033 are how I got so good at stealth games
