Despite SA2 being one of my favorite Sonic games, never have I once known about that rocket underneath the trail of rings in Metal Harbor. Great video btw!

2:07 THERE'S A ROCKET THERE? I've beaten this game so many times since it came out on the GameCube and never once found that. I feel like that's on par with the hidden mushroom in Mario 64 on Whomp's Fortress in the tower

Cool video. Funny enough the SA2 Speedrun community actually has a run based around this concept called “Low%” collecting the minimum amount of upgrades to beat the game. Really cool to see you pull off some Speedrun tricks for this challenge though!

A remastered that allows me to play as other characters in different stages and a tweaked somersault that maintains momentum when going down hills and slopes.

I tried a bunch of "No Upgrade" runs (on Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for the GC), and the only upgrade necessary to finish the story of the game (Hero, Dark and Last Story) is Knux' underwater breather during Last Story. Heck, if you are willing to use glitches, even this upgrade-skip isn't impossible...just very VERY hard to achieve. You don't actually need any other upgrades. Just a little bit of luck (especially with Knuckles or Rouge) and going unintended ways (Tails and Eggman, and Knux with glitches in the case of Cannon's Core). I really have to get back to the game, it's been more than 10 years since I last played it.

An interesting thing is that after Pumpkin Hill the game doesn't check if you have the Shovel Claw in later levels such as Aquatic Mine, Death Chamber and Meteor Herd, probably it assumes you already has, so if it was possible to skip that one emerald that always spawns underground as long as you don't collect the power up (which sadly is impossible) it would also be possible to beat all Knuckles Stages without a single power up, and probably the same applies to Rouge The biggest problem really is in the Mech Shooting stages because even if you complete the level that you get the hover upgrade, the upgrade still is used in later levels

Actually in Knuckles case, theres a chance that we get all pieces that arent burried but chances are from 1 to 15% Most easly is Meteor Herd and Aquatic Mine

Spin dash followed by an immediate jump can get you pretty far, but once you have to break boxes to get something, you're out of luck. Any time the game code isn't "the win condition is a physical object that the character can touch", it's possible. 2:06 my life is a lie. I have never seen this rocket.

I'm just saying. I appreciate you making the video. It would be more useful instead of aimlessly jumping in the void as tails to attempt to go through some obstacles. There's some really neat exploits in this game

I attempted this as a kid but never got past crazy gadget with sonic. Glad to see someone manage it! Try sa1?? I got to red mountain before giving up as a kid.

@@DawsDaws Sadly it's not possible with anyone except for Big, every character has 1 mandatory upgrade and 1 optional one (except for Sonic that has 2 mandatory and 1 optional), for Sonic, you need the Light Speed Attack to enter Red Mountain, it is impossible to enter the level without destroying the Kiki on the gate, same goes for Knuckles that needs the Shovel Claw to get the Monkey Destroyed Button, Tails gets stuck in the past until he collects the Rhythm Badge, Amy will always get the Warrior Feather after scoring 2000 points in the Hedgehog Hammer Mini-game and I don't think there is a way to skip it, and Gamma needs the Jet Booster to unlock the elevator to go fight against Sonic Big is the only one who can since his mandatory upgrade (the Life Belt) is on the side at the entrance of Ice Cap and you can simply just jump out of the water, while the Long Rod is option as well as the 4 Lure upgrades

Can you beat sa2 sonic and shadow levels without light dash and homing attack? I think its pretty easy and in the ending i think its impossible, but i wanna know if is possible.
