Today we're trying to beat Terraria with only Crimson Loot, or more specifically, only loot that is found in the crimson biome. Hope you enjoy!
Currently away from my normal setup so sorry the mic quality isn't what you're all used to. And of course, apologies for the lack of videos lately. I've been busy but doing well, I hope to get some more videos out for you guys soon :)

Remember that the Crimson strip created at the start of Hardmode can infect floating islands. Meaning you could've been lucky and had access to Souls of Flight and harpy feathers.

NPCs can live in the crimson if you have enough sunflowers, so wait a bit for it to spread to spawn (you can remove blockage) and then take the littany of sunflowers that usually spawn there and build housing near the edge of the biome for the dryad, who can sell you more flowers, enabling you to have housing literally wherever in the crimson

Or, more convenient: house NPCs 40 to 50 blocks above the crimson. Most locations at this height should still count as biome, but for housing, it's not crimson at all, so it's fair game.

So when I was first being introduced to terraria, I was given full Crimson armor, and I thought that I was overpowered. I even had a stupid catchphrase "I'm crimsoned." (I was like 7). This reminded me of that memory and I love it.

Betsy's wing are so underrated. Although it is inferior to Fishron's and EoL's hovering mechanic was a game changer when I learned to use it. Hover's boosted horizontal speed and flight time comes in clutch for my playstyle of flying in circles like a headless chicken

the rule is you can't get items if they're not from the crimson, not that you can't build outside the crimson. you could've built npc houses outside the crimson, had them move in, waited for the crimson to spread over their house and then gotten their items that way! regardless super fun video

Awesome video Gungnir, i started watching from the Gungnir and Bot videos, you are pretty perseverant and the effort you put in your videos its pretty awesome, honestly i prefer crimson over corruption (i dont like the color pallete nor some of the loot, but its great when you are a mage) Could you try to do a Old One's Army equipment/armor/weapons run?

Build housing in purity but when you want to use the npcs just use a king or queen statue wired with natural wiring from a trap in the crimson. Then you could beat skele, unlock the mechanic, and tp her over to make a less jank teleporting system. The statue has to be found in the crimson or made with stone from a crimson biome though.

A cool idea for a play through, is to only use weapons that NPCs use, like a wooden bow for the guide, and throwing knives from the merchant and so on. Pre hardmode would probably be difficult as the best weapons pre boss are flintlock pistol and grenades, but some NPCs upgrade for hardmode like flaming arrows for guide, and minishark for arms dealer, and probably more I haven’t mentioned. Good luck! Edit: another rule is you can only use the weapon if the npc is currently living in your world

Gonna be real, Crimson only is probably the best solo biome option in my mind. Crimson just becomes SO good in Hardmode with access to ichor, Prehardmode Crimson Armor is good for the extra healing, Panic Necklace is decent, Crimson Rod is nice additional damage (especially for farming) and allowing for dungeon chests means Vampire Knives which can solo pretty much anything if you use them right. And that's not even mentioning how easy Brain is to farm for money once you've got a decent enough setup.

Idea: can you beat terraria while actively fishing? What I mean by that is that you have a fishing rod in your hands during important fights. You can still summon minions and sentries beforehand and build cool arenas and traps. The limitation here that you don't have in other challenges is that you need to be fishing throughout every boss fight, which restricts your movement. You can build multiple pools of liquid around the arena (that meet the minimum requirements for fishing) and switch between them as you dodge, but you cannot have your line be not cast in a fight for more than some length of time (I was thinking like 5 seconds but honestly you'd know what's reasonable a lot better than me). I think this challenge could be fun cause it gets you to make unique arenas and makes dodging have a new challenging aspect to it. You can still use normal weapons outside invasions and boss fights, just for convenience Oh, and if you want to cheat in bait that's fine. The focus here is on the dodging skill and multitasking above anything else I've been thinking of this for a while, and you're one of the few KZfaqrs I know with the skill to maybe pull it off Love your content, and regardless I hope you're doing well

For anyone wondering, I got the idea because I always had a fishing build in my playthroughs with stuff like the bone helm and the shield of cthulhu, and combines with summons I was able to wreck a lot of enemies even in a blood moon, all while actively fishing. I really want to see someone with more skill and time than me try to take this to its furthest conclusion. (You don't need to optimize your build for fishing though. As long as you're functionally fishing throughout combat I consider the standards met)

npcs actually can live in the crimson! you just need to plant a lot of sunflowers nearby, the amount needed depending on the amount of evil blocks nearby

0:20 Actually they are possible to obtain, if you make the house in the perfect spot it will still be valid and be inside the crimson and if you check the npc they'll complain about being in the crimson meaning it still counts

You could've checked the floating islands to see if any had gone crimson. Apparently, the hardmode crimson spawns from top of the world to the bottom.

You can technically do Hallow-only with the Celebration seed because the sky islands start as Hallow. Good luck with that though.

You can find life crystals in the crimson so you should be allowed to grab them from outside the crimson
