When my healthy kiddo was working with me during Covid everything was stressful but flowing well for my corporation. They gave me a week or more (at home/paid) to look for childcare when they wanted me at work without kids. Healthy kiddo then was sick and not allowed at preschool every single week for a year. Picked up the bugs at school. So I did what I could from home on those days. This sounds completely legit. I am now homeschooling my 3 kids. I’d never go back. While I was working, the way the manager handled it made me stay until the last day possible. I only left to have another baby. I would text my boss at 4am if a kid was sick in the night and sleep in knowing I would answer emails later.

I get the idea - don't hire the person who is solely interested in the benefits package. That being said, healthcare is priority #1 for my family and if you have a health package that gets in the way of that goal, the job offer is a non-starter. If the paycheck is big enough maybe I buy my own insurance and then we're still good

Wild that you cite an example of a baby in the NICU but yet call people who are motivated by good health insurance “parasites”. Some families have no choice but to prioritize that 16:35

Dave fired an employee for being pregnant. Is doing that caring for your people? Not only is that illegal, it goes against any Christian beliefs of loving our neighbors. Would Jesus fire her or show her compassion and help her through a difficult time to celebrate a new life in this world? Our Lord ministered to everyone, not just the most holy.
