I'm from Canada. What is your advice? Same here being bullied, mobbed, gaslighting, harassed at the hospital for over 12 years. I've happened to be the top worker for 38 years and have never been suspended. These bullies are jealous and miserable people. Union, manager, HR and the police are all totally useless. Bullies are lazy bums and stupid managers are scared of the bullies. They say about me I'm crazy, I drink, I'm a stalker all bs defamation of character. The biggest mistake since they removed disciplinary measures. They should arrest the bullies and fire the manager. Action speaks louder than nasty words. It destroyed my reputation. I will never quit to make these lazy bums ever win. If I decide to transfer to another hospital and may start gaslighting, smearing and bullying me once again, I don't know all the new managers etc. like in every department like now. So best to not change hospitals. I will never let bullies try to control me from quitting. Just don't react and not try to defend yourself which will only go back and forth making me look even more guilty. Action always speaks louder than words. Just best ignore them and find another easier target. Never let these low life lazy bums win ever win.

Why did I walk away from a job I loved? Many reasons: 1. I felt unappreciated. 2. I did not feel safe physically or emotionally. 3. No room for growth professionally or financially. 4. My concerns were ignored deflected by gaslighting. 5. Unethical requests. 6. I did not trust my employers.

Stupidity and lacking common sense I remember a "manager" that would pile me with work...far too much while she sat in the office trying to learn English whilst I was run off my feet she had also delegated me half hee work to do...she tryed to make me like her assistant ....titke should have been dogs body when I confronted her on it she made out she was so busy that she couldn't help me which resulted in me not being able to complete my tasks correct...it ended up my work was getting checked by her boss ( which should of been her work) she was good at dekegating and I got pulled over the coals for it not being correct( they we're being picky also ) I started getting a bollocking of her naaty stupid boss whilst the other girl manager just stood there in silence enjoying it ...this was all office dynamics where they felt threaded that my real boss was due back and was was all for me and had want we me to get the promotion that my boss had I wasn't really bothered but they seemed to think i was I think everything had been going swimmingly for them as my real boss was not here this stupid mabageer jumped to wrong conclusion about me.. it was crazy. I ended in tears due to the way she spoke to me and the full feeling I was being ganged up on...and it was her little side kick on the room that had been hitching about me clueless as to how incapable my immediate boss was of doing her job . That same person was I think narrassit and a terrible boss as she could not see by her own nose. Each time every Xmas eve o was put on early shift where I was working with her I treated it. I would be on early shift and she would come in later...I was due to finish at 3pm and her later but each time I went to leave even after my time she would go in huff I think she expected me to finish at the same time as her even although I had been in earlier than her by 3 hours ! It was always the person that strated at 6am finished 3pm and the person stared 9am worked till 5pm or earlier I don'know what part of this she did not understand...it was Xmas eve and she was my boss and my partner at the time had to wait a hour or more as she made me feel so bad for wanting to leave on time it was ridiculous...my partner at the time has been in and out of hospital having treatment for cancer which she knew and I had to keep him waiting outside. Hated her with a passion . Not only that as a manager she was very petty and lacked good people skills she would make you feel bad if you made a mistake she was egotiscal and stupid alot of the ones who worked under her did not see her bad side as she was lovely to them...she just treated me and a few others that way....glad to be out if that place...

@@Black.Sabbath OK I'll give you my real life example then..... I just quit my employer of 15 years last August 2021. At my last employer for several years I had a group of coworkers and bosses who where consistently and persistently harassing me for not staying at work as late as they where and denying me about half of my vacation requests because according to them it made them "look bad" when I worked faster then them and used my vacation time. They also consistently and persistently harrased me nearly every weekend to work overtime by ringing my phone off the hook on my days off (to cover for my lazy coworkers who wouldn't show up) and/or scheduling me for excessive mandatory overtime I did NOT want because of my health issues. I told them repeatedly that I am to sick to work 6 nights a week but they did not care, they kept scheduling me to work 6 nights a week anyways because they where understaffed. (hence they where showing me no appreciation whatsoever) When I left this abusive employer I was making a little bit over $23 per hour but I found a similar job which is a lot less physicaly demanding that pays $22 per hour but now I'm working the day shift instead of the night shift now and I no longer have to pay dues to that stupid union I was a part of (that basically did nothing for me personally)..... and the funny thing is I've been making more per week with my new employer at $22 per hour instead of the $23 something I made from the job I left and my new employer doesn't call me on my days off or schedule me for mandatory overtime on my days off. So the $1 and change per hour cut I took was worth it to leave all the a-holes I was working with at my last job.

So true, I had one like that. He tried to pile more work onto me when I am over 90% plus full work load and those who hides in the car for a few hours (I saw him in there and not showing up in his post) or taking hour long breaks (15 min is the rule) get to slack off. Sure, he is looking to promote me, but a 4% (50 cents a hour) increase in pay and the title hardly compensates the amount of extra work especially I'm already working more than most staff in the department.

And I've been told many times by other employees that have stayed on at these companies, that they suffered a great deal after I left, because I was the only one there that knew WTF I was doing and how to do it right the first time. Two companies lost several thousands of dollars of business the first month after I walked out. But you know what? THEY DON'T CARE!! The reason why so many managers are so terrible is because they were promoted above the level of their qualifications. A manager slot came open and a person who was probably reasonably good at their job was promoted because they had been with the company the longest, not because they were qualified for the manager's job.

And they will give new hires better paying roles in hopes of keeping them, while bypassing you even though you have more seniority. Managing has NOTHING to do with liking people. If they're doing a good job they should be told, they should be rewarded, they should be congratulated. Thats what you do if you VALUE them. If you dont show proper gratitude they'll move on to someone who will. They may realize they could do better than you at your job and become an employer. If you find it hard to look through someone else's lens then you shouldnt be a manager. How do you know someone feels valued? They chose to stay with a company/employer that doesnt necessarily pay them as much as they like because they value the staff, the environment, the work more than just a paycheck.

The last time he blew up at us, about half the staff quit over the next couple months.

@@LeadershipwithMike My old boss would have an even tougher time with replacement because we were all white-collar specialists - I'm a digital marketer, and I left with two front-end developers, a copy editor, and a graphic designer. We were all in our prime working years, so it was easy to find another job. I still get a little bit of surprise whenever I bring up an issue to my current boss (who is awesome) and she handles it all reasonably and professionally. I'm so much more productive and on board with things because of it.

I work in an environment where colleagues literally say "well I don't know how to do that/I am not willing to do that" and the managers' first approach is to dump it to me because "I am good and I can get it done". They won't confront the others behaving is such an unprofessional manner or train them, they just go to the easiest person to deal with. I have tried to explain this in so many ways and all I get is either patronizing comments (fake praise) or the classic "basically we don't care, it needs to get done". Of course I get no kudos other than a pat at the back, whilst they continue to dump all the crap to me. Also, managers hate each other, they will not have a meeting or agree on anything without a massive argument and we have to pay the price because they are always angry. I ask my line manager for support, he passes the issue back to me, I ask another manager for help as I just want to ensure that the client is happy, I am getting anger because it's not their problem and "my line manager should do it" comments, while I just need some help....it's not about me, it's about the customer who shouldn't be receiving bad service because of petty internal politics. Such a toxic chaotic environment, I can't believe these people are actually managing to raise families. Can't wait to get out as I am next in line to become a manager and there is no way I can survive in there with my work ethic, they will eat me alive.

Howdy, I am a lead sales associate in a retail store. At the beginning of my job there my manager would praise my work because I was efficient and provide excellent customer service ; however, now she says I am not doing my job correctly and have lost all motivation. While I agree I have lost motivation it is because as an employee it is a bad feeling when your manager makes you feel like despite your best efforts you will never satisfy them or completely your assigned tasks. A few weeks after that, started telling the other managers that I was a horrible worker and she couldn’t trust me to finish my work. I confronted her about it and asked her to teach me a better way to complete by work but she did not help.

I say from experience that retail is one of the worst fields to work in. I will not go back to it purely because of garbage people like my managers. They truly are the bottom of the human race and yes, they are that stupid. I hope the store I used to work at is suffering big time with Amazon taking more and more of the market from them . Their prices sucked and they never had a decent selection. They're so ugly that they go after and hunt down EX-employees for criticizing them in job interviews! Seriously, I am amazed that there was never any workplace violence at my store.

Happened to me last month. I had a 2nd job @ Wendy's on 69th st in upper Darby pa. I was way overworked , this 1 manager named "Jacky" was clocking me out 30-60 mins before my actual end time , yelling giving me 6 of the 11 jobs to be done @ closing. When another employee suggested that I should do ALL 11 of the jobs she didnt say shit. Even when that employee wanted to fight me (I would've beat the dog shit out of him ) & again she said nothing , screaming , name calling ect. Finally I yelled back @ her & walked out. Bad riddance

I have a manager with no management experience, has worked one job her entire life and who started off as a lead supervisor. Considering the rest of us started at the bottom, i think its unfair she was promoted to manager. Especially when we have done the job longer than she has. About 3/4's of the office ran out, the remaining 1/4 hates her but trying to hang in there because they think she'll be gone soon. It seems that society rewards privilege and not work ethic. Which is why we have so many poorly run businesses. Degree holders with no character, no experience and no leadership qualities are entering positions which hold a great deal of responsibility. It makes no sense to hire someone to manage an entire communications firm with a degree in children's education, who worked 1 job, with no experience in managenent and no technical knowledge or knowledge in communications. Wtf!

My reasons for walking out in the past were: A boss, even low level, who was nitpicking regarding one area of my performance, when I, as an employee was going way above on other areas, particularly compared to my co-workers. Was unfortunate enough to have a couple of bosses who were true psychopaths. Also left one job as the new owners ran it down to the ground, they had no idea, and it was very sad to see what was a great place to work, were you felt part of the businesses success, evaporate

My style of management caused me a lot of Unnecessary issues at my former department. I put a huge target 🎯 on my back all because I positively changed the way staff worked. Proving that with a little bit of humility, humbleness and belief in others, you can create a good working environment and be 10 times more productive than my counterparts. I was able to train those who wanted to learn more, help improve those who were deemed “ bad “ worker and give encouragement to those who needed it. I also knew how to assert authority when needed and show my serious side when things got out of hand.

I've experienced this recently with the company I've been with for 5 years. I used to admire and respect them so much. They were always good to their employees, they gave raises without anyone needing to ask and only to those who actually deserved it, they listened to our problems and concerns, they had standards when it came to who they hired and kept around, if someone was looking for a new job they kept them around until they were ready to leave. Now, after the pandemic, it's entirely different. They let bad employees off the hook for so much crap (stealing, bullying other coworkers, etc) and keep them around, they don't listen if we tell them our workload is too much, they give raises to people who literally do nothing while those of us working our butts off get ignored and piled with more work, and if they learn you're looking for another job, they will fire you. It's ridiculous. It was heartbreaking when I realized I no longer admire these people and immediately started looking for a new job. I can't respect them and I have no desire to work for someone that doesn't even attempt to take care of their good employees anymore.

I would do the mandatory and an extra 8 hours during the week so I don’t do Saturdays. I told them I would do that so I can be with my family on the weekend. They worked with me on that for 2 weeks but than they went back on their word. I told them from “ I love this job but if it gets between my family, I’m leaving” they didn’t believe me so I left.

Sadly, I WAS this person at the beginning of my career. Usually, hands-on experience in a job, provides perspective, over time, that softens a person's tongue and opens a mind for exploring and seeking options from your workers. Fortunately, for me, I was put in my place by several very seasoned, usually self-confident and succesful managers, who saw something in me that they valued and helped me learn by allowing me to fail. Now, nearing retirement, I am so grateful for these people and they do exist! They are usually the listeners at the table. They aren't the first to speak. A hint at seeking out the right people. Good luck!

The supervisor was outgoing and friendly during the hiring process, however, after being hired, there was virtually no supervisor interaction for direction. I once had a question about an account. She said, "You're not the guy I wanted to hire anyhow, I didn't pick you. I wanted to hire the other guy." WOW! So nice to get to the feeling that I had a target on my back as a new employee.
