Yet another video in my Ringfit Adventure series, this one focusing on my 180 Day / 6 Month journey! It's been a long road getting here, plying this game for 1hr+ / day every single day for the last 6 Months, but boy have I seen results! Reaching this point has been as much thanks to your guy's support as it has been my own determination, so I wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me in this. Thank you so much for this review. I just bought the switch and ring fit for my husband's 62nd birthday this month. We are OG (original gamers) from way back...lol. It is still in our blood. I looked at a ton of reviews and most were lukewarm, which was disappointing. I thought this can't be right there has to be someone that has used this to its full potential and got great results. I am now super pumped from your enthusiasm that we can achieve some great results with the dedication you showed us. Thank you!!

As always, thank you so much for sharing. Each video I see of your progress really inspires me. I got the game around a month ago, and was able to keep exercising every morning around 45 minutes (real minutes, not in the exercise timer of the game) for two weeks, but felt a bit sore after that. I'm trying to get back and I wish I had your consistency! If I accomplish even half of what you've done I'd be so happy!

I played mine a bit and stopped for lack of time, but since I watched your videos it really hyped me and I played RFA everyday this week! My goal is to do at least 5 days a week, sleep more, drink more water and eat better. Basics, but since I know it can work I can't trick myself with negative thoughts!

I'm in shape!! well a shape at least :D I am going to buy this in the next few days, put quite a lot of weight from the lockdown (stress and stuff) Started a keto diet, and after seeing some pretty decent results, I decide it's time I start doing some exercise as well. I have never seen any of your videos before, so I would've loved some measurements and/or pictures of what you looked like from the very start so we could see the progress from then to what you look like now. Otherwise great video! If I had the money, I would've bought this myself. Hope they make some more games compatible with the Ring Fit Adventure mechanics. Can you imagine Super Smash Ring Fit, or a Ring Fit Zelda Game? 🤩 Amazing

Rob Noire Gaming Thanks for the response! Your being a 5’11”, >160 and a *healthy & fit* 160 makes it even more impressive. And personally inspiring. I’m the same height, 240, still recovering from a bad car crash 7.5 years ago but doing well enough now that I wanna focus on taking 50 pounds of extra weight off my back and knees. 190, here I come! I think you've done absolutely brilliantly with your journey so far, as a suggestion I'd recommend buying some ankle/wrist weights. A lot of the exercises are bodyweight, with the only resistance being the ring con. As you've found out, the best way to lose weight/gain muscles is to increase reps or increase weight, and since you're starting to max out the reps, weight is the way to go! Good luck with the month 7!

I'll definitely look into that, thanks for the suggestion! I hadn't realized I'd be playing the game for so long so hadn't seriously considered it before, but it's true, if I want to keep progressing I'll need to keep pushing myself, and weights seem like the way to go.

Just bought it and was watching your videos to hype myself up! Love them, can't wait for it to be delivered. I'm really skinny and out of shape, mostly skin and bones! Do you think it will help me build up some stamina and some muscle? Tired of feeling weak!

Hey, hope it goes well! It will definitely help with stamina and muscle growth, my advice would be to take it slow at the start and slowly increase the difficulty as you get more comfortable with it. It's worth noting that if you're looking for serious muscle gains, especially upper body, a gym would definitely be a lot more effective though - Ringfit really shines through the most in the cardio/aerobic aspects in my opinion. 5 sets of planks?! Well done! I struggle with that more than any other exercise, 1 set and it’s a proven way to get my heart rate to 170+ and for me to feel like I’m dying

I bought this game after a lot of research, as I had played other Nintendo "Fit games" but was never too convinced. Your challenge/review really made me think that my purchase was the right one. I definitely need to plan a routine to play it every day, as I started today and played about 20 minutes of exercise time and was absolutely smashed at the end. But watching you was really inspiring, I can't wait to see what goals you will be able to reach =)

Awesome, good luck! I definitely think the first few weeks are the hardest until you get used to it. Once it starts to get easier though, it’s really fun!

@@RobNoireGaming Do you have any advice to start? I really struggled at the beginning, and I only played the 3 first levels. At the end of the first boss fight, I was absolutely drenched in sweat xD

@@3Mikka3 Take it easy at the start - don't push yourself too hard. Don't be afraid to set the difficulty a little lower than the game might suggest. As you get used to it you can make the game harder and push yourself more and more, but if you want to be able to stick with it, it's important to start off at a level that feels comfortable to you and doesn't wear you out. Play time as well - only play as much as you can handle, if three levels is your max, thats absolutely fine. As you get used to it, you'll be able to do more I think that would be my best advice I can think of. I struggled the most during the first 2 weeks or so, after that it became a lot easier for me.

I was on about 21 days and then started moving houses. So my ring fit is actually packed up for about a week now. Been down 10 pounds since starting though!

@@Serl0p I went a solid hour in real life time every day basically. Then maybe once every week I did a longer session at an hour in game time. My diet didn't change much. I just cut down the portion sizes.

For the next 6 months you should buy yourself some weights you can put on your hands and legs. There are also vests with weights. Since you already maxed out the reps, this could be an awesome muscle building addition to your routine. You really deserve more views for your effort and also your overall transformation!

Amazing job and great videos!!! You are such an inspiration! Quick tip to show further progress: you can invest in a multifunctional scale which measures not only your weight but also your body composition! By doing that you can clearly check if you are losing fat and gaining muscles while losing "less weight" because muscles weights as well. I think that would have been such a great implement to your videos as well as the number of repetitions you can actually do. Additionally if you want to gain more muscles you can buy weight bands for your wrists and ankles to make the exercises even more challenging :) Keep rocking it!

Maybe you can talk about certain difficult exercises and the best/right way to do them. For me flutter kick and boat pose are difficult. Tree Pose and Fan Pose can be difficult too.

I agree flutter kick is hard - I also found mountain climber tough because of the endurance needed. I'll try and talk a bit more about them in the upcoming videos and the challenges I've faced with certain exercises, thanks for the suggestion!

Hey man , after your videos I bought the game and started to exercise. I was never doing any kind of exercise but you motivated me so much ! Now I have a question, can you show the belly and your abs after 7 months? I would like to know how it looks because I’m focusing more on that, (all the fat on me goes there) , even if the enemies are for legs or hands. Keep doing it man you helped me a lot and others !

Hey I'll think about it. Not super comfortable going shirtless in a video that's going to be viewed by thousands forever on the internet unless I'm 100% happy with how I look (which I'm not currently, but getting there!), but I'll give it some thought! I did do a brief shot of before / after in I think my 90 day challenge? although I was more than 10lbs heavier than currently.

Now, if this is going to hinder enjoyment at all, ignore this. However, it would be interesting to see a segment about what you would want to see in an eventual sequel (or similarly-formatted game). I realize that the creators did a great job considering where the genre started (nonexistent), but I would love to have a long-time player's notes actually documented!

Everytime I get into it and start seeing progress I end up having to step away for health reasons before going back (first time was because I needed to rest to prevent injury, second time was because of depression, third time I got sick and was told to rest and not even think about working out) I'm working on going back at it so I can look and feel better and be healthier

I notice in these videos you have a bit of hypermobility in your knees as when you straight them they go ever so slightly inward - I also have this and it's been impacting my other joints, I'm curious if you found the same problem and if losing thr weight has helped any joint issues you have if any, or if you have noticed your leg muscles are stronger and have made it easier to do repetitive movements

I got this game to play it at least 5 days a week and I played it 3 times and it is now resting on the shelf behind a bowl of ice cream. I feel dead after 20 minutes that’s how bad the pandemic has affected me lol

I can’t even finish one set of planks! 😭 I am already working out with the ring fit but for only 30-40 minutes 5 days a week. Seeing your videos has motivated me to push myself more! In the future do you plan to continue working out with the ring fit or moving on to a different type of workout?

Well I've agreed based on popular demand to do Ringfit for a full year. After that we'll see, I'll definitely continue exercising but after a year of the same game I'll probably want to look for another way lol.

@@RobNoireGaming Have you considered adding other fitness games to the mix to maintain your sanity / compare? Personally I'd find that quite interesting. Thanks for this series and your commitment, it's very encouraging. You're still losing weight very fast for someone who doesn't have much left to lose!

I have bounced around the idea of potentially doing a 1-3 month series on Wii Fit & Xbox Kinect exercise games in the future, if there’s interest. To keep things as accurate as possible it wouldn’t be until after the year of Ringfit though, so people can see what a year of just Ringfit (no other influences) can get you to

so just to be clear total time per day is more like 2 hours total with exercise time being 1 hour? i starte playing it this week and on level 26 difficulty i'm wiped out after like 35 minutes. also well done on this challenge, amazing results.

Yeah more or less. If you do nonstop intense exercises (like mountain climber) you can get it down to like 1hr15 play time 1hr exercise time, but the toll it takes on the body just isn’t worth it imho

Hello, I’ve tried a few times to remove the time elapsed counter in the left bottom corner with no luck. How to replace this counter with the calories burned one? Best videos about ring-fit out there in KZfaq are yours, great job!

Hey thanks, glad you enjoy the videos! To change what the counter shows, press the shoulder or trigger button (cant remember which of the 2 it is) on the main Joycon attached to the ringcon. There's like 3 or 4 different measurements you can switch between, personally I'be found calories burned the most helpful.

Hi, for AB guard I used to struggle with it a lot as well. It really just took time for my abs to toughen up enough to hold up against something like a mega ab guard. Just stick with it and keep practicing and it should get easier!

It may be weird but I would like to see muscles in chest/legs/arma e.t.c I get that it may be uncomfortable ik just saying. I've been working out recently as well doing ring fit adventure and hope I can lose weight as well.

I made it to something like 270 days? I don’t remember, I had to stop due to an unrelated health issue where I couldn’t do any strenuous activity while recovering, and I never got back into it afterwards. It’s a fun game but after having beaten everything, it was a little too repetitive for me

How accurately does this game count calories burnt? I've ordered it and it's on the way as I want to do more workouts at home with some incentive lol.

It’s not super accurate. It doesn’t count your base calorie burn rate or any time you do any movement / exercise outside of being in levels (think on map, not realizing an attack is done, etc) people who play it with fitness watches have reported that the amount of calories you actually burn while playing tend to be about 25-35% higher than what’s recorded

You can gain muscle with it if that’s what you mean. But regular weight lifting would probably prove more effective

Hmm that's a bit tough - for firsts I'd make sure the game isn't set too hard, when it's easier it tends to be a lot more fun. I also have to literally make time and set aside the time to play this game every day, because I know I'm the kind of person where if it's like "if I have the free time today I'll do it" it'll never get done. That's all the advice I can think of though - maybe some other commenters will also have some better advice for you lol, hope it helped!

What has worked for me is to commit to switching it on and doing at least *something* every day. Even the easiest 30 second minigame. The main thing I've struggled with in the past has been consistency, namely the "I'll just do my big workout tomorrow" pitfall rather than doing something every day, no matter how little, with no fake excuses - and you know when they're fake. Turning on the console, starting the game and playing a minigame takes a couple of minutes. Some days I really was too tired and didn't do more than a few easy mini games and others, an hour or so in adventure mode, with high energy, once I got started. The days I was sorest, or thought I was too tired beforehand, weren't the ones where I did the least, so being sore or tired - not injured, mind you - isn't necessarily a reliable indicator of how much you'll be able to do. However, if you find the game boring or unrewarding, you're not going to want to do even that, maybe. Not trying to provide excuses for you, just that there might be other fitness games you'd enjoy more and that would also allow you to just start one up and do something (always better than nothing, right?) every day. Once you get into the groove after a short while, it's easier to keep going. Committing to play every day for a week is an easy short-term goal to set yourself, that should work towards making it a habit.
