The thing with actual hydrodip is is needs something to stick to. As an experiment I tried hydrodipping a bare aluminum intake manifold and it failed. I painted the manifold and dipped again and it worked as it should. I don't think it would stick to glass or a mirror.

I recently saw the Himalayan Salt Lamp video where Calli experimented with the Himalayan salt lamps, and it got me thinking, what would happen if you put one into water, a full one, and then freeze drying it. Will it have the same result as iodized table salt or will something cool happen?

For the sake of art you may want a thin coating, but for the sake of frosting you want as much as possible. So that thick coverage on your chocolate mousse is not a fail but a win!

Thanks for not using water, I was anticipating lots of bloom but that was prevented due to corn syrup. I suspect that your mirror glaze did not seize because you used candy melts which is usually compound chocolate and does not need tempering.

Very cool! Rosanna Pansino is one of the coolest KZfaqrs. A KOR project with her (which would have to be some kind of creative approach to making a themed treat) would be a fantastic KZfaq moment. I'd love to see it happen.
