Can you make an F150 perform like a Ford Raptor?

Freddy & Matt find out if they can make CJ's F-150 perform like a Ford F-150 Raptor by first taking them to the dyno then putting them head to head at the drag strip. Freddy had previously done a few upgrades to turn up the boost of the Ecoboost F150 to crank out some serious power.

You put 37s on a raptor then tried to compare a whilst F150 to it😂 3.5 eco boost just needed a tune to hang with the raptor

the 37's helped the raptor in this case. Every race the Raptor had full traction at the start and took the lead, where the F150 was spinning first and second and had to play catch up. But there for sure is potential to be unlocked in the raptor.

CJ Off-Road With that logic, 40" tires would help even more. Larger diameter tires means more weight, means higher rotational moment of inertia, mean slower acceleration, less torque and horsepower to the ground. The Raptors traction control is AMAZING amd would still have full traction with 35"s. In Slippery Mode, I can't make the tires spin on a snowy road and pedal to the floor.

Would like to see a comparison of: 2017 or newer 10-spd Raptor, 2018 10-spd Roush Raptor, 2016/17 supercharged Roush F-150, 2018 Roush F-150 Nightmare. Would imagine the Nightmare would be nuts on the streets, followed by 16/17 sc Roush F-15, ...rest in reverse order as listed. Would be nice to see.

So a stock raptor turning 37’s which also weighs more from the start is slower than a tuned f150, yeah it’ll be faster, but still won’t preform off-road like the Raptor. Put a tune on the Raptor and put the stock tires “which are great tires” back on and it would win in a drag race.

It was a pretty fair race, does have the better transmission and the Raptor did have bigger heavier tires, but it had full traction the entire time. The F150 had trouble keeping traction in first and second, but it did have 50 more HP to the wheels and its lighter. In part 3 we take them off road :D

My mpt tuned 2014 f150 with the 3.5 ecobeast would eat a stock raptor.. thats a $25k truck with $1000 in tunes, i get some people like what the raptor has to offer.. but you can make a a stock f150 with a eco equipped a raging animal on the rd.. and they EAT raptors.. change my mind 🤷‍♂️

Need to return the raptor back to stock for these comparisons. The 37” tires rob power and give it a much rougher ride off road

The wheel weight ate up a little bit of power, but it helped the raptor in this case. The Raptor had full traction throughout the entire race so it took the lead in the very beginning while the F150 was spinning 1st and second then had to play catchup to pull the lead.

F150 doesn’t have paddle shifters now before you get all” logical” and tell me I’m wrong , I will say paddle shifters feel way better than the tiny plus minus button on the f150 . while maneuvering over changing terrain I like my hands on the steering wheel . And finally I don’t like grabbing stubby knobs like some people 🤣.

On the races they don’t show when the truck is passing the raptor every time at the end. Only on the last race 🤔. Soooo idk. Clearly the raptor looks on the front one the 1st 2 races

9 out of 10 races the F150 won. The raptor had the lead in the beginning everytime, it had more traction but the F150 was always catching up.

As others said, this isn't how you see if the F150 performs like a Raptor. Drag racing is about the last thing the Raptor was made for, other than a racing road course LOL and those 37s did not help it. Do some higher speed off-roading and see how they compare :-) I'm getting tired of seeing all the Faptors around. Especially when they even put a Raptor decal on it. Just stop posing LOL

1:30 exhaust and cold air intake? You did nothing to increase hp. This is the point of my channel to let people know the truth. All F150 use the same air filter. That mean the 3.3 n/a 290 hp v6 use the same air filter as the 3.5 twin turbo 450 hp Raptor. So putting a CAI on any F150 is wasting money.

Whether they all use the same factory air filter or not, that doesn't change the fact that aftermarket intakes or drop in filters can free up intake restrictions. But this video wasn't about increasing horse power in the Raptor, it was showing that we made the F150 more power than the Raptor. Thanks for watching, please subscribe if you haven't

You and I both know the truth. The increase in power came from turning up the boost. The stock intake and exhaust flowed enough for you to do that. I don't subscribe to people who try to fool people into buying stuff they don't need.

We are not trying to fool anyone, this video was about increasing the horsepower of the red F150 with an upgraded twin turbo kit. We were not showing gains of any kind with the Raptor, it is at the stock boost level. How are we trying to fool anyone?
