I got sick of spending money on dirtbikes in 2003, feeling guilty for dropping $9000 on a KTM i opened a bank account and put $500 in. I bought a bike, sold for a profit, did it again, bought 2 more etc etc. Now in 2018 i have $5000 in that account, about 15 vintage enduro bikes, and three road registered trail bikes......about 35 to 40 thousand dollars worth........all from that initial $500. Not counting fuel and oil, which comes out of my everyday account, i havent spent a cent on my hobby since 2003 and i usually buy 15 to 20 bikes a year. So the answer is yes, you can Make Money Buying And Selling Motorcycles.

It can make plastic brittle a few weeks later. You can do this by hand with some kind of hard sponge (I don't know the name in English) to prevent that. The YT channel "Fortnine" speaks about this in their video about restoring a tiny yellow 50cc
@ayyjannik43054 жыл бұрын
Zyriab Eventho I somewhat agree about the plastic being „briddle“, if you use something like a hairdryer you reduce the risk of this happening. However you can always Sand plastics and spray them, which is the best options if you don‘t want to buy a whole new set of plastics.
@zyriab57974 жыл бұрын

I also came across a fully loaded kawasaki mule under 1k miles came with removable hard shell all glass cab & has a heater like a truck..it just had be reassembled the owner had top end rebuilt but then suffered medical probs & after a month or two in the hospital he wasn't able to finish reassembling, it even came with all the new parts like new electric fuel pump & gas lines so ther is ways also when u find them u have to jump on them immediately
@mikemccabe9526 жыл бұрын
The Fallen's Assasin I usually get $200-$300 per quad, I've been lucky cuz every one I've done my freinds usually buy before I even get to the reassembly the one I sold on craigslist I spent bout $80 on cuz I did new tires & plastic body but I got $500 for it cuz was like a mid size quad it went to a 14yr old

The Fallen's Assasin clutch plates are easy and cheap & when ur able replace with aftermarket plates like I use Barnett's alot ther an older company & always been reliable & still affordable plus usually the china bikes use cloned motors from older honda's so u can cross reference with like honda atc's like most 50cc-110cc china motors is the same mtr as the old z50's & atc 70's lucky for me I still have my 1st bikes a 81 honda z50r & 81 honda atc 70 I got brand new in 1981 so i was able to compare against ther plates.. utubes is always been great source to find out what other makes & models share the same parts which can save u money plus give u a more quality part

It’s a gamble when you try to flip stuff, but if you know what you’re getting into you really can’t lose. The way I approach the game is to buy fixer uppers, get them running and enjoy them for a time before I flip them. Once you do it a couple times you get a sense for the business side of things. Other times you just get lucky and have a great deal fall in your lap. I recently picked up a vintage Hodaka that I can flip for double what I paid, but it’s such a cool bike I may not want to sell it.

In high school I supported my racing by buying and selling bikes. But I was 16 and didn’t pay for food or rent! Buying and selling cars and bikes for profit is a tough way to go. Btw, I’ll share my secret to selling a dirt bike to the first guy. After the bike is clean and you’re done with everything, spray the complete Bike with No Touch tire dressing. In the white can. Let it all drip off for a few hours then hit it with the yellow towels. Everything looks fresh. Tires. Plastics. Seat. Tank. Works every time... also, lacquer thinner on the white plastics removes all the discolored stains. Works on graphics too. Love your videos.

I "made" money flipping bikes for a while. If you include your labor, tools, work space, ECT in expenses your really losing money no matter what. But it is a good way to gain experience if you want to become a moto tech. I also went to school and got certified at the same time, but ultimately I think flipping bikes is what got me a job at a dealer. My job at the dealer was...evaluating trade in's, and fixing them at a cost which made the dealer money. Basically the same thing I did on my own, but I also got to pdi brand new bikes/quads/sidexsides and ride them... including kawi's h2, yamaha's newest R1, GSXR1000, STREET TRIPLE 765, CanAm X3 XRC ECT ECT ECT all before anyone had a chance to buy them. In the long run I'd say it paid off.

you already bought all of that tools and space and etc, you are only investing your free time what you would spend in front of the tv lets say, in some more useful way. if this is your primary income, then we can talk about amortization and cost of labor.

This video was likeable to watch. Thanks for posting. In the country i live in its very hard to find a dir tbike for 450 euro. All the time they cost 1500 with an engine that is grenaded so thats really expensive and almost impossible to make money on. I live in europe btw.

For a four to five year old bike, sure. In Cali, a ten year plus bike is in the $900-1900 range.

I owned and managed a bike shop in Georgia, as well as raced, rode, repaired and resold bikes on the side most of my life. On the east coast, that's a $1500 bike, real money, right now. On the west coast, same thing. Advertise it at $2200 and let people see that number change to 1500 and you'll make someone's day. Hell, maybe even gain a friend. Any lower than 50%, and your margin isn't sustainable. Any higher than 50% should be either a pretty rare, special circumstance or you're inviting trouble to ride shotgun down the trail somewhere. Just an opinion. I love your channel. See you around, bro.
