I don't agree with putting everything in a supply crate. Maybe 1/3 - 1/2, but if you put it all in a crate that makes it easy for any boarders to instantly dump all of your supplies. Plus they get way more out of sinking you if you lose.

Yeah like its almost like scout missions in other recon games, as someone who's focused more on their surroundings you can even do stuff like turn your lights off (which you should do anyway except in special cases) and be silent so you can listen to those boarding sounds

Not at night they dont. Its not that you cant see them. But the lights definitely make them stand out more.

@@roechambeau8420 They do. But any fool with 20/20 eyesight is going to make out a ship silhouette at night easy. Lanterns or not.

@@MrOskiee I think the key is when actively searching you will never miss the spotting of ship. But, when you are preoccupied or just making quick glances out on the horizon while navigating, there is definitely a chance you would miss spotting a ship with no lanterns on.

@@MrOskiee having the lights on makes you a target because most people assume a ship with lights on is full of noobs or randoms.

The biggest problem with it is no one watching your back and you can't always watch your own so it makes it a lot easier for people sneak up on you

@@Peter-xj8wj Go to brigantine open crew and you have a high chance to learn how to solo brigantine, but I would never recommend soloing a galleon, everything takes so long to do, bailing water out, anchor, sails, on a brigantine it's so easy, you raise the sails a bit before the island banner appears and then you raise both completely when the banner appears, perfect parking every time, also repairing holes isn't a problem and it doesn't fill too quickly

Never solo a galleon. It's just TOO big. You need to run three decks down and up to bail it out fix holes and while yes you do have a cool cabin your main sail is in the middle and out of easy reach for the helm, and it's just a massive hassle with navigation not to mention turning speed. As far as Soloing a brig I tend to stick to the logic of treat it like a sloop most of the time. For most things you really only need the back sail which is within easy reach of the helm. When you have a need for speed then set your course and open both. If you need to be able to see where you are going just turn them both to either side and you can see pretty easily. In combat it's best to take it in small bites and make sure to have a crate of cannon balls on deck to avoid the need to run down the stairs all the time. Keep wood below deck and if you are midcombat i'd recomend sticking to only repairing the middle and back of the ship, the front is a bit of a walk in mid combat and has the least holable areas, unless you have unusualy fast flooding which means a large hole in the front. For bailing just stand ont he stairs and look down scoop and up toss. Map room also has a handy peaking spot which is the grate at the front of the ship. Not as convient as the sloops turn around and see the map but it helps when identifying landmarks.

I solo brig too sometimes. Although the increased spawn points makes the sloop a more valid and easier option.

The map room lanterns can barely be seen but overall, distant sails are still very visible. The reason I turn off deck lanterns is because they barely light up anything and the bright spots are too distracting for me at night

If I would need friends on my ship I would prolly find some randos for it but teamming up with other crews after all this "this is pvp game get used to it" bullshit shows how the makers of the just go with whatever floats their boat at the moment not thinking about the playerbase. It's just bad design for the sake of bad design. I did my pirate legend solo was lots of fun but this fomo " we take away quests after 2 weeks and if you don't find six hours in those 2 weeks for the game you are fucked" is also one of the reasons I quit just let me play story on my own pase I'm solo crew game is hard enough without time limits ffs
