Red guitar is an ES 345, not a 355. I can verify because I had one. And it looks to be mid ‘60s vintage. Freddie also played the ES 355 but not here.Freddie King really made his bones on that Gold Top Les Paul, though.

Freddie King was a monster on guitar! That almost has some Mary Had a Little Lamb vibes! Great video again Pilgrim!
@CorbCorbin
@CorbCorbin 2 жыл бұрын
As the Guitar Pilgrim says in the video, it’s similar to Buddy Guy’s Mary, while still doing its own thing. SRV was very inspired by the way Freddie did the licks in-between the main chords. SRV could mimic Freddie or Buddy Guy, which helped with his own blues voicings.

Thanks a million!! This is so educational!! I just love Freddie King instrumentals... Only one minor unrelated thing if I may add (please take no offence)... when you say "lamb" or "thumb", remember that the final "b" should be silent, it sounds as if you're pronouncing it a bit or maybe it's a Dutch thing (and I apologize if I'm being pedantic, which I probably am). P.S.= For the record, otherwise your English is excellent

Got the same guitar 2013 model with the coil taps. Does yours have them? Also the 2013 model used Granadillo wood for its fretboad.The 409R and 498T pickups are great. Sadly, I feel the Chinese have now copied them in 400 Dollar and up price range guitars. Oh, and by the way, in 2013 the hard shell case ( made in Canada ) with the white fluff cushion came with the guitar. These day, hmm gig bag ?

actually the guitar he was playing was actually an es-345 but good guess it is a bit hard to know which one because this particular guitar that Freddie was playing had gold hardware which is what es-355s have. but you can tell a 345 from a 355 because the 355 has a bound headstock and 345s have split parallelogram inlays
